I'm riding 120 on Saturday up north. That'll be past your planned time tho.

Yeah, probably too much. I looked at my plan and this is my last 3.5 hour ride. The following weeks they drop to 2.5 and 2 hours leading up to SOMA. I really liked riding 4-5 hours and I'd love to keep going long but it's time to focus on the race and stick with the plan.

I agree Kevin. I think you'd be ready for SOMA if it was next weekend!

Travis- I'm meeting Chad's friend, Bobby, at his house. It is off the 17 and 101.  Let me know if you're interested.  It's somewhat of a far drive for me but I like riding up there so much more. I'm planning on running afterward as well if you'd like to join. Let me know and I can give you directions and our proposed route.

Oct 2nd:

I'm riding 70 with a buddy of mine up in the Scottsdale/FH area. We will be meeting and Shea and the Beeline and riding this route:

http://www.beginnertriathlete.com/discussion/training/map.asp?routeid=110614

I'm not sure what time we'll start, probably around 6 or 6:30 since the weather has been really nice. I thought I'd post to see if anybody else wanted to ride since I'm not 100% sure he's in yet.

Yeah, I took our 90 mile route and cut off the beeline and added a portion from the map you sent me yesterday. I'd ride with you guys but 120 is probably a little much for me three weeks out from SOMA.

Definitely agree. I probably wouldn't be doing this ride if I wasn't doing IM.  I'll be wearing my ASU jersey so look at for the maroon and gold guy tomorrow

For anybody interested:

Ok, just spoke with my buddy. He's in. There will probably be 4 of us in total. We are meeting at 5:30 and the fast food place just to the right of Shea after exiting from the Beeline. I think it's a Burger King but I don't remember. We'll probably start riding by 6am on the route from my post that I quoted.

Pecos sounds fine to me. I have to do at least 80 and it would be good to have you to entertain me for at least 60 of that    What time are you thinking of starting, and where do you want to meet?

Wwhisler, you're welcome to join us!

Here is a route of Travis'.  http://www.beginnertriathlete.com/discussion/training/map.asp?route... link doesn't work.  It was under routes if anyone wants to look at it.

We could do whatever though.  The Bertha loops are 15 miles each so if we do those plus out and back on Pecos that is 30.  We can refill water at the park and ride but there is no restroom.

Now that it is cooler can we start a bit later?  Is 7 too late? 6:30?

If you guys are looking for a long ride with hills I'd recommend the route I rode last weekend.

http://www.beginnertriathlete.com/discussion/training/map.asp?routeid=110614

72 miles with 3,400 feet of climbing. Just don't take FLR Blv all the way to Shea. There's no shoulder on Shea and 4 lanes of traffic. Turn left onto Via Linda from FLR Blv and then right onto 136th St. On Shea there is a bike path leading up to the big hill that gets you out of traffic.

The McDowell Mountains and Carefree area are beautiful. It's a hard ride but worth every mile!

We could do the two loops Travis had us do last weekend.  It would equal 62 miles and has hills.  I don't have a map of it right this minute, but I can do one later or maybe Travis has it.
