Total Time = 1h 30m 49s
Overall Rank = 70/4923
Age Group = 30-34
Age Group Rank = 12/386
Pre-race routine:

Got up at 5 AM and had a piece of peanut butter toast and drove an hour to the event.
Event warmup:

Because traffic was so heavy, I was not able to warm up much. Plus, it was kind of chilly so a quick jog was all I was able to fit in prior to the start
Run
  • 1h 30m 49s
  • 13.1 miles
  • 06m 56s  min/mile
Comments:

This was a killer course that was very very challenging. It rained the entire time, which saturated my shoes and socks. My goal was to get under 1:30, but I think the added weight slowed me down.
Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster:

I am coming off of an unknown injury to my leg that is actually still bothering me. I probably should not have run this, but I didn't want to waste my entry fee, so I took the week prior to this from running. I think that may have affected my conditioning. It was very disheartening ot start off strong, only to keep getting passed by other runners. I am used to it the other way around.

Event comments:

I would definitely do it again.

Nice race.  Hope the leg feels better soon.   The rain kind of sucked but the course and event were great.  I'd love to run it again.

Thanks everybody.  After the run, I went and got a massage and when I went to get my beer, it was so cold out there.  I was walking around shivering drinking a beer.  What a complete difference than 30 minutes prior (when I was running).

Anyways, about the leg; it was a little achy on the right leg bone, about 2 inches below the knee cap.  Strangely enough, today it felt better than it has for the previous 2 weeks.  I don't know why, but I'll take it!!!

My training prior to this race was bad, besides taking the week off from running because of my achy leg, I was swamped working 12 hour shift due to H1N1, so I was lucky to get much sleep, not really running or doing much of anything else.
