I would do the training run if it weren't 300 miles from here.
Guess I'll have to settle for the hills here in the finger lakes.

I'll be there this weekend with a friend of mine.  I'm curious how many people will actually show up for this.  Awfully early!

So, less than 3 weeks.
Everybody ready?
Anybody else going to be in the 3:10 pace group?

No long run in about 6 weeks.  And on a heart medication now that has cut my max HR by around 40 beats.

So that's a big fat "No" for me.  (To both questions about ready and 3:10).

I'm feeling pretty good after this past weekends "trial" run.  Took it a little slower on certain parts and a little faster on certain parts also.  Happy with my overall time considering my rests and pace.  Should be a fun good run if I can get the same weather results as last weekend.

I'll be in the 3:30 pace group to start.  I would love a sub 8 run.  Might start to pick it up later in the race if I'm feeling good.  I also did the trial run this past weekend and it sure was hilly.  I finished the 20 miles at an 8:00/pace.  I was under the impression the hills were short and steep, but I found them to be long and gradual.  Overall, not a bad course.  Not the most scenic course running in the city, some of the spots were a little shady, but I guess it can't be all that glamorous!  Anyway, looking forward to it!!!

I haven't been paying attention (and all of the e-mail updates have been sent to my old work e-mail which is not a valid address anymore) so I went to the website today.

They changed the course from the last few years a bit!  No more Ft. McHenry!  That was always one of my favorite parts of the course as it was nice out on the water and peaceful.  They are making up the difference in the Druid Hill area.  So added a tiny bit more climbing at the start (which you never notice anyway).  From the half mark on it is the same course as usual it appears.

Everyone ready?  With my usual lack-o-training over the last two months I can answer that with a big fat "No."  But then again, I have run it the last two years on similar lacking and did a 3:15 and 3:21.

This taper is killing me.
I want to go race. Like now. On my mile repeats last night I broke my personal best mile time....on a wet track....twice.  I think that qualifies as peaking. Need to take advantage. So excited.
See everybody there!!

I'm ready and excited.  I should easily PR, and have a not-so-secret goal of getting a BQ.  It probably won't be in the cards this year, but I'm still going to give it a shot.

Got my packet and number today.  #623.

Not as much of a fan of the shirt this year.  I got a red one my first year that I participated ('04).  At first I was not digging the long sleeves they have given out the last few years, but I was actually looking forward to another long sleeve one.  Oh well.

Everyone ready to get wet??
