Glad to hear that others are feeling a little anxious.  This will be my first oly and my first tri in 5 years or so.  I hope I remember what to do in transition.  Rode the course Sunday and it was really nice and pretty fast.  I am a little nervous about how 800 of us are going to fit in that little pond though.  We will be nose to tail for sure.  I just hope they keep the course open long enough for me to finish, LOL!

the swim can be great, especialy if you are in the last wave. The pond becomes the biggest whirlpool ever!!!!

I know this tends to be tent ending after race t-showers, but time to start the wave of positive thoughts I am so ready (mentaly)!!!!!! so wish I was ready to whip out the ol can of whoop , but I will have a great time either way!!

just saw the swim start times, it blows that I will be in the last wave both days...I don't know why they put Clydes and Athena's last personally, oh well, hopefully the bike will not be as congested as NY was.

I hear ya...I am probably going to see if I can switch and race in my AG vs Clyde - finishing 30 min sooner on a Sunday is a big deal for me.

Hi, All.  I got a chance to do the S/B... but I realize it's < a week away I don't know anything about the run!  Any hilly spots?  Shade/no-shade?  RRs don't say much, so I figure it to be a *mostly* flat route... anything to note about it?

No big hills, it's a rolling route and mainly shaped as a rectangle.  Having done it 3 times, my best guess would be that it's about 50/50 sun vs shade.  There is a chance I will be there on Sunday to volunteer along with a few others.

If you are talking about the sprint course: I've done the bike 4X and the run once - yesterday. It's pretty shady about a mile into the run. (it goes through a neighborhood -Old Powerhouse Rd). And about 1.5 miles or so is a quick steep incline at the corner of Old Powerhouse Rd onto Heritage Hill Dr and then downhill. The rest is all flat.

Good Luck this weekend!

What's the water spacing on the olympic run going to be? I'm hoping that I don't have to carry any fluids. Also, I hope it's 75F & raining hard... that would suit me just fine!!

Water station every mile.  No need to carry anything.

Thanks Max and Josh!

I'm still with Rory, though, and doing my best rain dance for some relief mid-run.  These last several days have made any attempt at running ugly.

Rode the bike course Sunday, nice course, great roads(except for Walnut St.) should be fast with a couple small hills, one near the end. Drove the run course as well, again seems to be fairly flat with a bit of shady spots and the same hill near the end of the bike will be there on the run. It's not bad.

Do they close the parking at any point during the race? How much of an enormous PIA will it be for my bf to either drop me off in the morning or see me off at the start and then come back in 2-3 hrs on Sunday?  Apparently spectating is too difficult and he's got some work to attend to in the next town over.

No, Sara came late last year.  There are 2 entrances/exits.  I believe the Rt 18 entrance will be open the whole day.  We go in and out on the bike and run out the other one.

ETA - I hope he understands when he is doing his first Olympic, you will have something else to do as well.  I am going to have to have a talk with him.
