Doing my first IM in AZ this year. I have done a couple of OLY's and a couple of 1/2 IM races. I volunteered last year at AZ and I was a little intimidated. Well a lot actually. Anyway, where do I find a check list on what to bring? The other races I kind of winged it. There was one transition area and I just brought one backpack. Need some help here.

Packing for an Ironman race is a WHOLE different ball game.  You won't be setting up your transition area like you would at an oly or HIM event.  You will have transition bags and special needs bags to put your stuff in.  Have a look at the web site for your race.  There may be something that goes over the game plan for your race.

Here's the IM France checklist in frenglish: Also need to figure out what food it going on the bike, vs in the special needs bag at about halfway. Find out what the race is providing asap so you can either train with it or know you're going to use something else.

Here is a recent thread with what some people packed in their special needs and transistion bags:

Also, I have started a word processing file that I copy and paste random stuff that I might want to think about taking with me.  About a month out I plan on deleting the stuff I don't plan on bringing.

a little off topic, but a good idea is to make a "to do" list and tape it on the inside of your T1 and T2 bags so you don't forget to leave anything or take anything in transition. you just go into transition and read your checklist...no thinking involved.
