Subject: Advanced Full Ironman - 17 Weeks - Lack of Long Runs QuestionHas anyone else successfully used this plan for a Full Ironman? My concern is with the amount (or lack thereof) of long runs in the plan. There are only 4 runs of over 2 hours, and they are barely over two, and only 1 run that is over 3 and thats not even a continuous run ... its broken up into two different runs at separate times during the day. Im freaking out a bit that the lack of runs over 15 miles is going to come back and get me late in the marathon. I did runs of up to 18 miles using the Beginner plan last year for IMKY and suffered a bit on the run. I was hoping to improve that this year and make up alot of time. I guess theres not much I can do about it now since IMKY is only a month away, but would be nice if others who have used this plan or something with a similar low run threshold had positive results. Ive been pleased with all of the plans I have used from this site thus far so I have faith, but need a warm fuzzy. |
