Ride Description
We are doing the Roswell Ride on Tuesday 6pm leaving from the Roswell Area Park upper parking lot. Starting at Roswell Area Park we ride through Historic Downtown Roswell. We then take a few good hills followed by a ride down Riverside along the Chattahoochee, with a lot of good hills a long the way back to the finish. See the map below for the full route and elevation profile.
A & B Group
We usually break into an A and a B group. I lead the B group and the A group is led by whatever fast people show up. The A group is not no drop. If you get dropped by the A group and don't know the route, stop, consider yourself in the B group, and we will be along shortly... Lately the A group has been doing a longer route of 25-30 miles.
Don't forget your running shoes and Taco Mac Passport!
We do a short 1.5 - 3 mile run around RAP after the ride, before heading up to Taco Mac for some well earned refreshment. We usually arrive at Taco Mac around 8:15pm and it's located at 685 Crossville Rd in Roswell, GA.
Weather Guideline
It's currently forecasted to be mostly sunny and 89 degrees. It's going to be one hot humid ride, so make sure to bring at least two water bottles for the ride and three if you plan to run after.
Get Well Soon
You may have seen the thread last week, at around the two mile mark Karen's bike slipped out from under her on a very wet, steep downhill where you have to stop and turn left at a traffic light. After seeing pieces of her helmet and watching Karen go off in an ambulance, we were very worried. Karen was out of the ER relatively quickly that night with no broken bones. Reading Karen's training log, apparently she has a new shade of eyeshadow, roadrash, and a few headaches. We hope Karen recovers quickly and look forward to riding with her again very soon... With this accident, it makes you realize how important it is to have a roadid and if possible ride with a group.
No Drop
The B group is No Drop a ride in case any of you want to ride but are not sure of yourself.
Augusta 70.3!
The Augusta 70.3 is not far off now... The Roswell Ride is a great opportunity to get 22-30 miles in during the middle of the week. Stay on plan with your bike mileage along with some Awesome Atlanta Triathletes on a local group ride every Tuesday...
Hope to see you there!
Justin
