Subject: RE: cancel my 20 miler?well I'm not going to lie and say it was the most fun I've ever had, but I got my 20 miles in and I'm so glad I did! Now I won't have this hanging on my conscience all weekend. Thank you for the motivation everyone!! I hydrated every 2 miles (both drinking water and pouring it on my head ), and I took a couple of gels with me. I ran the first 15 outside. It was brutal! It was dark at that point so I stopped at my gym and ran 1.5 miles on the treadmill, then got ancy (i HATE the treadmill )and ran 2 miles outside, and then finished up the last 1.5 on the treadmill. So I cheated a little by running those 3 miles on the treadmill, but that AC DID feel good! It was still 86, and felt like 90, when I got done. I don't know how people living in the south deal with this weather on a regular basis! But anyway- once again- THANK YOU for the motivation!! And i REALLY hope Chicago has cooler weather this year. :- ) |
