Subject: Woman freaked out on Lions Gate Bridge
I was riding to downtown Vancouver. As I was coming uphill on the Lion's Gate Bridge, there was an older couple, maybe in 60s, walking side by side. It was really windy, so as I was about 15 feet away, I yelled, "LEFT!". She screamed like someone had jumped out of a dark hallway, her one leg went up in the air and she nearly fell over. Then she started yelling at me.

I thought it was pretty funny, I'm still laughing about it.

I was riding my bike the other day down the street and saw a kitten walking away from me. I yelled "on your left!" It jumped in the air in surpise, landed then hissed at me. I KICKED the kitten.

I thought it was pretty funny, I'm still laughing about it.

I was riding my bike from Vancouver to Merritt. I came upon what I thought was a fox tearing along the shoulder of the road in front of me. As I got closer I noticed that it was a dog and startled it as I passed since it didn't hear me coming. This was miles from anywhere and I think someone stopped for a break along the road and sorta forgot to let the dog back into the car.

I thought it was pretty funny, I'm still laughing about it.

I don't see how that's funny. Wouldn't it have been better for all concerned if you had called out nicely "Sorry, bike coming up on your left side" If you had to slow down a bit, would it have ruined your day? You did ruin their day. I ride over that bridge a lot as well as other bridges in the Lower Mainland and always try to be considerate of others. We have enough mad Rambo cyclists in town giving us a bad name.

Even though they were the ones being inconsiderate by blocking the bike part of the path, I am the one that should apologize? "Sorry you had ample opportunity to look behind you to see coming bicycles, but choose to not be aware and then be taken off guard when a cyclist had to yell at you to get you to move off the bike path. "

If they did have a ruined day, then they ruined their own day, as they are the only ones that control how they react. The woman's reaction was priceless.

I thought it was pretty funny, I'm still laughing about it.

I had this guy I was working with today. He was a total complete absolute tool. No relation to this thread. None what so ever. But still, everyone would have laughed at how dense and daft this guy was with his comments. Crazy that he was so off in his own little land where he ruled the land. Kind of teetered on being pretentious. Again, just ranting about the day. No relation to this thread at all. Just too lazy to start up a thread of my own. Really.

If it bothers you that much, you should quit your job. While you try to find employment with people of equal intellect as yourself, you could pretend to write a book. It would fit in well with being lazy. And with your talented writing abilities, you could easily write a best seller. Really.

But seriously Barb Zimich was riding home across Lions Gate Bridge Last week and caught a pedestrians jacket.  Now she's hospitalized with a seriously broken femur and a blood clot in her lung.

Not funny...nobody is laughing.   Let's be careful out there.

No one is of the same intellect as I am. Thanks for taking note of my abilities. Scared the crap out of any senior citizens as of late? No chance of quitting my job, paid too much for doing so little. You seem a bit defensive over this whole thing, what were you expecting from posting this thread meep? Sympathy? Maybe it is my lowered level of intellect but I just don't get your point?

OMG - is that cute little Barb that drives that adorable yellow sports car???

Leah, you might know Barb. She comes to the track sometimes though she doesn't ride there. She's there coaching some junior girls.

I might go and visit Barb sometime this week, so I'll let her know that you all wish her a speedy recovery.

Leah, you might be thinking of McPhee. Hope the other Barb recovers from the injuries, sounds pretty serious
