Same here. 6'2 192 now. Starting running and tri's a year ago. Was at 198 in Feb and did Wildflower (half) in May and the weight has stayed off. Muscle just shifted around. Stopped all lifting and I'm getting faster, but feel skinny.

I'm close to 5'7" in the morning and close to 5'6" at night. I weigh about 40 lbs. less than I did 6 months ago but I'm not putting that number here, maybe once I get rid of another 40 then I'll be comfortable posting it.

Its odd, but as a society we've gotten so used to seeing overweight people that 20 lbs overweight looks normal, 10 lbs overweight looks skinny, and ideal weight looks sickly

Wow, great insight! I've noticed the symptoms but never put it to theory. I'd add that when people get grossly obese, society considers them, "heavy" or "large", like it's just the way their body is naturally which they should embrace. Nowadays you have to be orca fat, day-one biggest loser types to be considered overweight.

My builder (who is a good friend) came over the other day and since I haven't built anything in three years he hadn't seen me in person since right after my spinal fusion surgery when I was at 230. I could see the shock in his eyes and his first words were, "are you alright?" like he thought I had cancer or something.

IMO, humans are mostly motivated by carrot/stick. Since obese people are no longer shunned by society (stick), more and more people get obese. When you take a wealthy society with unlimited amounts of food, remove all the "stick" effect of becoming overweight, you end up with exactly what we have now in America.

6'4" 220lbs.

Get the same reaction as some that people can't believe I weigh that much. Down from 280 before training. Trying for 205-ish. I think increasing running to 40mpw and sticking with a ST plan will help...also need to cut the fat, but it tastes so good!

6'3" 232 as of this morning.
I weighed 250 last Xmas when I registered for UCLA - my first Tri.

I think I can make it to 225, which would be 25 lbs in a year.

5'10 - 212  goal is to get down to around 185-190.

I was up to 255 at one point and I started tri training at 235 in June.  I'll always be a little heavier than many folks because I like weight training.  I have a nice 6 pack at 185.

5'11"; 165-170.

Prior to tri's I had focused on lifting in the gym.  Top weight was 180, and it took a ton of work (and eating) to stay there.  Happier with the effort (and weight) put into training for tri's.

5'10 163-165 depends on the day.  When I started last Feb, I was 175. A few years ago at my heaviest and when I lived in the gym to lift, 217.  This next year I think 160 would be perfect. I have a weakness for chocolate chip cookies that I plan to keep in check.

5'10" 190 pounds. Started at 250 a year ago. Lost 60 pounds preparing IMFL 09. Did a marathon along the way. Hoping to get down to 175-180 in the future.

5'11" 180 lbs.  I was at 210 18 months ago and a lifter.  Biking is a lot easier at this weight!  I'd assume I'll end up around 165-170 as I've just started running and have dropped close to 10 pounds in 2 months without any diet changes, but we'll see what my body says.

5'10" and have been 127 - 132 for the last two years.

During my volleyball years, I was around 140, but I was lifting regularly.... snore.

I am 6'3" and hover around 200.  Down from 215 in May.  I'd like to increase core strength and lose about five more.  I'm thinking about doing P90X before HIM training starts December 15th...

5'2.75" and last I checked, I was around 115. But I need to lose a couple of pounds b/c some of that is fat. I could go leaner - don't worry, not scary lean, but not being able to run much this summer has not helped things. 110 would be reasonable.

6'0" - 230lbs.

Here's my "testify":

I'm 35lbs overweight of fat.  That's right, FAT!  Yeah I can lift very heavy weights.  But saying "muscle weighs more than fat" is honestly a BS excuse.  I'm FAT.  I need to get down to my "fighting weight" which is around 195 (anything under 200).  IMHO, no reason for ANY guy 6'0" to weigh over 200.  You can still be ripped and fast at that weight.

Why am I overweight?  I'll be honest...  I eat too much.  I don't eat what I should.  I snack too much in the evenings.  My workouts are inconsistent and not enough.  And I don't get 8 hours of sleep every night like I should.  It's all a subconscious choice.  Work, family, chores, charity work, life, etc...  All BS excuses.  I just haven't made the mental *click* to choose to be leaner and in shape.  I may not look too bad with a 48" chest and 39" waist, but that's like a football player and let's face it... a 40" waist is rediculously big and dangerous to have (especially for a guy).

Time to ask the wife to do a weight reduction series of hypnotherapy sessions for me.  I've done others, but it's about time I finally made the choice to be where I need to be.  I'm 40 years old and seriously approaching heart attack risk age and size.

*end self-rant*

yeah.. my coworkers think I'm crazy when I tell them I want to lose 10 lbs, but then again I am taking it to an extreme level (aiming for sub 10%)

5'11'' and 196 at the moment.  I probably need to be around 185.  Was up at 210-215 before starting training and watching my weight.  Before tri training, i was doing cross-fit like lifting for 2 years.

I couldn't imagine being 160-165.  I've got a big bone build and that really does make a differece.  I haven't weighted 160 since 7th grade.  Played football, wrestled, lifted, ran, trained all through high school and stayed around 185 and was very fit.

6'0"  - 183 lbs.

since i have started tri's i was at about 196 lbs, lots of muscle due to being a gym rat.  but it seems even after a full year of no weights just s/b/r still maintaining 183.

alot of people tell me i look very thin.  i would like to be at 175 lbs.  i think it will improve my run.  you all think that i am taking in too many calories?

any good nutritional guides for triathletes?

5'7" and around 142 pounds this AM.

yes loosing weight will imporve your run but to get there basically is a matter of burning more Kcal of what you eat. The off-season is great for that; you need determine your daily caloric expenditure based on training load and other life activities and then define your daily caloric intake to match your weight goals. FYI - we will start offering those services as of Nov 1st 2009, for more infor check my logs. good luck.
