knyost - 2010-09-09 2:04 PM Thanks for the signage inspiration.  Keep an eye out on Maynardier Ridge for:

"How are those butyl latex tubes and low CRR tires treating you now?"

we may have to change your race to UninformedMan... or maybe just BrainFartMan... or maybe just Tried2BFunnyButLookedLikeANoobMan"

Assuming you also have signage for disk wheels?

My preferred motivational sign - a quote from Chairman Mao

"Civilize the mind but make savage the body"

Nice, now like Anita Dunn you're quoting Mao.....YuckYell

PennState - 2010-09-09 8:52 PM See that's just it James, I have NO idea what I'm in store for. Thus no worries

Well it is going to be a cold and wet swim, followed by getting even colder during the descent into WesternPort.  Then things warm up a bit as you try to suck ALL the oxygen out of the air for the next 36 miles of UP.  Then you get to rest just a bit by riding against some head wind.  Starting the run with just time to get into a rhythm you get to smell other people’s food as you run up through their camp sites.  No wonder that girl was crying last year on the run.  Running through the camp ground is a grade and well your legs will feel it.  The few miles onto hardball to the fire tower rd is not bad and first loop seems a lot quicker that the second loop.  I think just because you’re thinking about the fire rd.

I hope your race is different.

Pector55 - 2010-09-08 7:57 AM I predict 2MoreMiles wins the Clyde class with a time of 6:18.

I predict my time to be a bit closer to 7.5 hours but I still think there will be 1 or 2 people slower than me or DNF.

ROFLOL...I'm hoping to get in under 7:30...can I have your rear cassette?

I am LOVING my new rear cassette.  Last night's bike right was basically a "hill hunt."  They still aren't "easy" but I can feel a tremendous difference.  I now have a granny gear that is the same ratio as Wabash's 30/26.

I'm aiming for 6:30.  This may be too ambitious because in May I was 5:58 on a much, much different course at the Kinetic Half.

I'm racing age group even though I certainly qualify for a job in the stables at Anheuser.

PennState - 2010-09-10 6:35 AM Well I will not be predicting a time for myself. I don't know the course at all and my training has been lackluster at best, especially swimming.

I do plan on having fun on the bike course though regardless of my time.

If you're a special kind of sick in the head, the bike course is indeed fun!

Race Wheels: $2000
Aero Helmet: $300
Dropping 10 pounds: Priceless

MDot?  Big Whoop.  This is SavageMan!!!

Your Wife Called.  No Brick = No Lovin'

The Psych Ward Called.  They want you back by 3.

Your Mama Called.  She said "Quit Complaining"

Wish you had that compact crank now

What goes UP keeps going UP

Shut up and Pedal

-- NO DRAFTING (on a crazy steep hill)

HTFU indeed!

Suck my savage, chairman mao!

Now who's the pansy with a 12-28?

140.6... I'd kill for that HR right now!

Chicks dig my compact crank.

Gran Fondo is more than twice this far, Nancy.

Wanted dead or alive: Kyle Yost.

Aerodynamics trump weight in all most triathlons.

If you're a clydesdale and you're reading this... that's f*&*ed up!

No christmas bonus for you, paperboy!

Want me to call the whaaaaaaaaaaaambulance?

Savageman has one of the flattest swims in all of triathlon.

You just crested big savage mountain, but only one of you will ever be THE MAN.

Don't worry, I heard Bjorn can't run.

On toothpick - "congratulations, you are beating Josh Beck"

Try to keep your cadence above the temperature, mmmkaay?

It's all downhill from here................................................ (to westernport).

I assure you, crying about it will not make it shorter.

Stop Drafting!

I honestly thought that going up a few hills on the training ride.

Good stuff.  Maybe a few a bit too negative, but good stuff.  I like the Josh Beck.  Maybe I'll go with

KYLE,
what exactly do they look for at the bike inspection? i had my bike in for a full tune-up about a month ago and replaced the tires last night.  do they just check for everything to be tight and secure, that you actually have brake pads, etc?  i would feel sorry for someone who shows up not realizing the extent to which their bike is going to be inspected only to have it fail.
just curious.
(if they have pre-ride the course, im sure they can understand the necessity)

I'm just glad this is a taper week.  My daughter was sick over the weekend, then it hit my wife and not it seems to be hitting me.  I've had bad headaches since Sunday.  It's not a full blown flu-like thing but I feel exhausted and I can't sleep well.
