Pre-race routine:

Drove downtown. Got stuck in traffic. 2 Cliff MOJO bars and a Diet Pepsi...even though I've sworn off DP. Back to the body temple on Monday.
Event warmup:

Met up with Judi and Tinkerbeth. Smiled for pictures.
Run
  • 2h 11m 56s
  • 13.1 miles
  • 10m 04s  min/mile
Comments:

Not a bad run, all things considered. Walked a little more than I'd like, but overall a respectable end to the season.
What would you do differently?:

My whole season. This was not a good year for me - although I rocked the 10K in March, things went downhill starting with the Mary in April. First I hurt my knee, then some family problems, then the DNF at the Oly tri, and then my heel started to hurt as I ramped up for the Half. I need to put this season behind me, heal up, and get ready to roll next year. But all in all, this wasn't a bad way to end the season.
Post race
Warm down:

Potato chips and mayonaise. Pizza. Drive home. Drink beers with the soccer moms. :)

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Heel pain. Bad mind space.

Event comments:

I love this race - set my Half PR here last year and will be back again. The event is well run and supported and the course is pretty. They changed it from last year to run through Bryan Park, which is gorgeous, although a little hillier than the neighborhood from last year.

Great job, especially considering the whole season.  Next year will be better.
