I do a fair amount of spin classes.  I have been entering them into my training log as "spin class"
Initially I wanted to differentiate to myself how much actual bike time/miles I had versus Spin.

The BT performance training programs do not seem to recognize spin as training.

So I'm wondering what/how everyone else logs them.

I enter the time in my log as "biking", but no miles.

I enter it as biking and estimate miles so I have a directional mileage number. I generally view my weekly volume as a mileage number when looking back over the months so like to attach a distance value to anything I'm doing...just the way I do it though.

I differentiate the total miles just from the equipment tracking.  I don't get to into the split details just because I generally have a plan to bike during certain months and maintain in certain months via spin class or the trainer.

I log the spin as cycling.  I estimate the miles.  my bike computer gives me the actual miles I ride on my bike (I reset it every year).

I do it as a spin, I want to know the bike so I can keep up with how many miles I do ride.

Log it as Cycling, but have an Equipment entry as SpinBike or some such. That way you can track it as a subset of cycling.

Thank you!  This is how I'll enter it as well.   Wanted to get this right so my logs will be clean for 2010.  I may actually go back and edit.

This, is awesome.  I really wanted a way to make spin class count as cycling, and that is what I will do.

Now, how do I estimate the mileage for an hour long spin class?

x2 I just focus on the time and not the distance. More about volume since I know thats more consistent then distance.
