I am registered too. This was my first every multisport last year and it was fun!

I'm in - time to see if the winter bike sessions have made much of a difference.

Yeah I agree there are some decent hills on the course. But, wind can also be a big factor, especially because it is still early in the year.
I have been out on some solo rides around the Bamberg loop over the past couple weeks with gusts up to 50km/hr.
If you get a tail wind in the last 7km, you can really beat the hills by picking up speed going into them.

just my 2 cents.
I will be there... just a 'C' race though.

There are hills.  But what I remember most was the mennonite kids sitting on fence posts watching us go by ... I thought that was pretty cool.

I am so looking forward to the first 'real' race of the season! Its the same feeling I would have when I was 7 years old and anticipating Christmas.
I just hope I can race -  my plantar faciatis has kept me from doing anything since  April 25th
See you out there.

Hey BT'ers - It would be great to meet some of the people we've been chatting with on this board. I'm meeting someone at the finish line about 30mins before the start - feel free to say 'Hi'
I'll be the bald guy with the black Muskoka Ironman 70.3 hat.

Cheers,
Mark

I'll try and remember to go there Mark.  I should be getting there around 10 AM and be done with setup around 10:30.

Weather looks like it's going to be a beauty day.

Becasue I'm a nerd, I mapped the bike route on MapMyRide.com and downloaded the elevation profile. There is a total of 96m of climbing.

Wow....what a blast that was.  Extremely happy with my performance.  Gave it all I had and ended up a mid-packer which is way more than I expected being it was my first multisport event, and the heat...warmest I've trained in so far this year was probably 18C....it was 26-27C at race time.

Also had a brief chat with Mark (mgalanter) right at the start of the race.

Agree - it's a great race! I heartily chowed down on the post-race pulled-pork sandwich! :D

I took it easier than last year but my legs were a little toasted on the bike ride (did 3 hours the day before) but it is a lovely course ... I looked up once and took in a beautiful panorama of blue sky and green fields and forests.  Perfect way to spend the holiday!

That was a very nice race. The hills surprised me, and the heat kicked my 200-lb. butt, but the pulled-pork sandwitches made it worth while (my new slogan: Will Race for Food)

It was good to meet you Ray - I see you ran a great rice. Very impressive bike time on a tough course.

I learn something new with every race I do. This race I learned that all the training from 2 years ago did not cary over into this season. I guess training is something I'm going to to have to stick with continously.

Great race guys. sorry I was unable to meet up with you, but it looks like everyone had a great day out. I'm still finishing up my race report but I will add it up soon.

I will second that the pulled pork was a great post-race treat (only problem was that you only get one for free!!  :D  )

Thanks Mark.  I impressed myself with the bike portion.  Once I saw those hills I was thinking to myself "this is going to do me in".  But I hammered it out on my 30 lbs hybrid of a hybrid and managed a good time.

To my surprise I'm not even sore today, and actually felt great even last night, but I did sleep good last night..lol.

I just saw the pictures by ASI for the event.  I was almost caught breaking the "do not cross the centerline" rule in this pic...whew! Laughing

I remember that also...I caught myself shortly after this was taken...I was getting ready to round that 1st corner.
