I am delighted it will be wetsuit legal.   This is my first olympic, and while I've done a couple of sprints in TTT, I was worried about the olympic distance swim.  The wetsuit definitely helps me out!

I checked out the temp of the lake today and it is already at 75 degrees..that is quite a jump from the last couple days. At least we know it is wetsuit legal. I am with Kerri, this is my first Olympic Tri and am a bit relieved that I can use the suit!

Could this be an evil joke by Elliot/Mirg?  I didn't receive the email mentioned and neither have any of my friends.  It's not posted in the Tempe Internation Triathlon website.  So is there any chance this is a joke?

I got the email. It would suck for those that don't own a wetsuit to rent one then have them say they're not legal the day of............

Not an evil joke!  I got the e-mail.  I'm really glad I get to wear a wet suit.  Last time I had one that was wet suit legal I decided to go ahead and do without and it may have put me behind a little.

elliot85 - 2010-05-06 1:56 PM I hope it's not wetsuit legal... Cuz then I can wear my orange tri suit and orange swim cap... and maybe even perhaps an orange life preserver.

What a BUMMER!  I love your orange wetsuit!

I'm now in the Mixed Relay division. Ankle is still too painful to run on so I doubt it will have miraculously healed by sunday. I'll be swimming and biking, hubby will run. Sorry Elliot- you will have to try to run my husband down, LOL!

I was happy they let us switch and not lose all my registration fees. Also thankful there is an Aqua-Bike at Deuces Wild! Ironic because I am so NOT a swimmer!

Sally - Sorry to hear your ankle is still injured.    I happy for you and your husband that Tucson Racing let you switch your entry.

I wore a full wetsuit at She Rox on Saturday.  They said the water temp was 72-73.  I got overheated and had my first ever panic attack.  Needless to say, next weekend I'll be wearing a sleeveless wetsuit.

~ AZ Sunshine ~ - 2010-05-06 9:46 AM Do you think we will still be able to wear wetsuits for this year's race?  The water was still pretty cold at the last Splash and Dash.

I think it'll be right on the cusp of not being legal. The weather has really warmed up this past week.

Elliot will you drown?

I will call Andy and make sure he kayaks for you.

I will be on Kayaks at the Splash & Dash Thursday but you guys are on your own on Sunday.

Elliot must remember to bring out his inner badassness... it does not require Star Trek bracelets to do it. LOL

Ha. Now this just isn't fair. I've seen your husband's 5k times.  Have you come up with a team name?

Yes- Team Tendonitis! Can you guess why neither one of us can do the whole race, LOL?

JT ran a 38:xx 10k in January. I'm expecting big things this weekend!

I have a feeling Team Tendonitis will achieve great things Sunday.

This is actually one of my concerns (overheating in the wetsuit).  I'm not a big fan of OWS anyway, and all I have is a full wetsuit.  Anyone else considering going without, even if its wetsuit legal?  How much of a disadvantage do you think this is?  We'll see how it goes.......good luck to everyone!

I swam out at BJC last Saturday late morning and I think we were all fine with the temperature. It's suppose to be a high of 98 on Sunday though but at 6:30 in the morning it should be pretty cool with very little sun on the suits. I'm not worried about it.
