Nev??er saw Pink Floyd before the breakup, saw Gilmour et al for The Division Bell tour.

Roger Waters touring The Wall.  I know he sings a lot of the classic songs, but without Gilmour and his guitar, not sure it would be the same.  In fact, it wouldn't.  I know he can get substitutes to sound like him (PF found someone that sounded like Waters afer all) But at $250 a ticket, can it be worth it??????

not for 250.   Just me.  And that could very well be my favorite album of all time.

I knew he was touring.  he will hit Denver I think in November.  I won't pay $250 to see anyone!  But IMO, Pink Floyd was never Pink Floyd after Waters left.  He is very talented.  But $250...that's $500 if I bring my wife...

And yet they are selling out and they've added 12 more shows. Tried to get tickets to the Vancouver show with no luck. Although there were $100 ticket options at Vancouver.

It seems every major act is charging more and more these days. And then you have to add in the booking fee, convenience fee (what convenience?), the collecting extra fees fee....

Yeah, there are cheaper options for the nosebleed crowd.  This is a show you'd really want to be fairly close for, I would think...  But the $1400 per ticket 4th row on stubhub is a little much,,,,

I think the upper deck areas won't be as bad because I am sure it will be a huge visual concert that can be better appreciated from above rather than lower.

Dark Side of the Moon and Wish You Were Here do it for me.

Brings back fond memories of first year at college and the heady freedom of being of adult age without the adult responsibilities.     Sex, Drugs, and Rock n Roll was the battle cry.

I won't be paying $250 for a concert.  I don't care who the band is.  After going to an ACDC concert back in the 90's and as a result being deaf for three days, I don't do big arena concerts anymore.

Good Hearing is precious gift.  I won't jeopardize it again.

I wavered, but decided to bite the $ bullett and get tix (wasn't that bad, all in all).  Saw PF post-Waters, but was too young to see The Wall in round one.

It's not PF, but I hear Waters' Dark Side of the Moon was brilliant, soooooo.  And I hear Gilmour promised Waters he'd come onstage and sing Comfortably Numb during ONE of his tour shows...  here's hoping it's mine

I wouldn't pay $250 to see Elvis perform tomorrow!!!!

I was 13 when the show originally toured, but if I remember correctly, the only U.S. dates were in LA and NY - I believe they did several shows in each.

It's all what you're comfortable paying, and what the music means to you, I guess.  This was the 2d album I ever bought, and was the soundtrack of my early teens.  I have no problem paying this money for a good show.  hell, I pay a lot more to put myself through physical pain for 12 hours, this is a bargain, and all I have to do is sit there   I hate Elvis, I woudn't pay $20 to see him coming back from the dead

I also looked it up, and didn't realize that Waters sings about 70% of the entire album, Gilmour sings all of a couple, and joins in 2 or 3 others, but there is his guitar....

You won't regret it. I saw him doing Dark Side of the Moon and it was just amazing. The best show I have ever seen, hands down. Even the guitar was incredible dispite having Mr. Nobody playing it on stage.

I can't wait to see The Wall now!

Bump, cuz I came home from vacation last night, logged on to stubhub today and scored a single 8th ROW ticket for $215 for tonight's L.A. opener!!!!!!!!!!!   I am assuming the price was due to last minute and a single seat, since it's much less than others around it.

Going again next Sunday

Seriously, I dont even go clubbing without them now, as a result of playing in a couple of bands, my hearing gets pounded way tooo much. I have about 6 pairs (one in each guitar case, plus a couple of spares

WHAAAAAAT?

Yeah I dont see myself spending $50 for a concert. If Elvis was on stage, I'd go to that, though. Because it'd be the precursor to teh Zombpocalypse.

I've got the VHS of Waters The Wall (Live in Berlin) with The Scorpions, Sinead O'Connor, Bryan Adams, Cyndi Lauper, Van Morrison, Thomas Dolby, and many others, just after the tearing down of the Berlin wall.
I think it means a whole lot more, and it cost only 15 American dollars (inflation today makes it about, uh, 15 American dollars and 33 American cents, perhaps? ), and can be watched NUMEROUS times, on a big screen T.V., at your own volume decibel level, AND you can pause it to go to the bathroom, AND not have to pay an exuberant amount for snacks and maybe beer!!

My brother-in-law whet to the show last week in Denver.  I understand part of the Berlin film was shown during the concert.  The feedback I have received from people I know that went has all been positive.  I would have loved to go.  But not at $200 a ticket.  I've seen many of these bands (not PF) when they were younger, as was I back when the bands lost money on a tour to promote an album.  Now they put together a tour when they haven't made a decent album in decades. Ok, maybe I'm exagerating a bit...

Oh.  My.  God.  Everything I expected and more.  Didn't hurt that I was sitting in a $500 seat for $200.  And that Angie Everheart was just a few seats away.  Some of it was clearly recorded, but Roger actually sounded great.  Flying pig hovered directly 10 feet over my head.   Visuals were absolutely stunning.  First concert I have ever teared up, in the soldier/family reuinion segment.

OK, I know I am replying to myself at this point, but a bump cuz there is more to the story.  I was tired Tuesday but kept checking stubhub for tix for the 2d show that night, didn't see much until about 4:30 or so when some 3d row seats started dropping.  Waited til about 6 pm, when they dropped to $225, and bought one.  Printed out the tickets and walked down to the arena.   I was sitting (again) amidst people that paid a LOT more back when they were pre-sold before general public.

2d show was even better than the first, and I was able to see the show from both stage left and stage right.  I have to admit, I've never cried in a concert before, I did both nights during an emotional Vera and Bring the Boys Back Home, which carries a different resonance today than it did in 1979.

Those two songs were always sort of a short throwaway to me on the album.  In the show, they along with Comfortably Numb were absolutely the most powerful part of the show.

I am going again Sunday
