Subject: RE: substitutions skavoovie - 2005-07-05 11:13 PM I guess my point is that it's REAL easy to finish your goal if your stationary bike says you're going 30 mph. You guys must have some interesting stationary bikes. I can barely crack 15mph on mine on the lowest setting. (Maybe it's just that I suck ) I set my own goals each month, regardless of whether I take part in a challenge. This is the 3rd month I've set my cycling goal at 140 miles. I have yet to meet it, including occasional stationary & trainer usage. If I do meet it this month, it's because of the 3 2hour rides I have on my training plan, and not because of mile inflation for a trainer or stationary bike. And by the way, my treadmill says I run 8 minute miles. I have never run 8 minute miles outside, and only ran 9 minute miles in one race, ever. It's not like we're playing for keeps here. What's the big deal? Everyone sets their goals based on last month, right? I mean, seriously, what's to keep me from putting in a 75 mile ride on my log tomorrow (besides the fact that my husband would know darn well I couldn't keep my butt on my bike that long, and he looks at my logs )? We're working on the honour system for this whole thing, so who cares? |
