This is my first tri and I'm really starting to get excited.  I guess I'm saving my nerves for race day!

Good luck and please write a thorough race report.  It's on my list to do next year, if it sounds good.

Hi,

I'm signed up for this one.

Inaugural event, but it sold out with 500 participants.

Looking forward to it.

The Subway guy?

Look like a good late-season race.  But, barring another last minute surgery or injury, I will be in Baxter at Lakes Country, hopefully competing in my first Tri of the year....

I'm signed up and will be at the race. So far they seem to be organized. Hope to see some of you there...

I hope everything is well organized otherwise the transition/vendor area may get a bit crowded.  The bike course is going to be great, winding roads+hills.  I love the hills.

I am doing it... my first Olympic distance. Should be a challenge! I am hoping we can wear wetsuits.

I'm doing this. Sprint. First tri. A bit regreting my decision to do it on my 36 lb $150 comfort bike. But wanted to wait to see if I liked before dumping the bucks.

I think it is a smart move,  I'll be riding my old-school Schwinn letour 10 speed.  There is no sense spending mega bucks on a bike that may sit in the garage.  I was at the YWCA tri a couple of weeks ago and noticed several bikes sporting wicker baskets and child carrier seatsWink

Anyone have a guess at the water temp on race day?

My guess is that it will be pretty darn close to the wetsuit cutoff, 78 degrees, and it will depend on where they take the reading.  I swam in Weaver Lake on Tuesday night as part of a swim clinic and it was much warmer away from the shore.

If you simply want to know whether it will be comfortable without a wetsuit, then the answer is yes.  The water is plenty warm.

Are you guys excited for tomorrow?

Did anyone want to meetup shortly before the event to say hey to other BTers?

At check in tonight, a board said that the lake temperature at noon today was 76 degrees.  So wetsuits are almost certainly legal.  (Not that I'm wearing one).
