I'm going to say it will be a little cooler this year due to all the rain we have had this past week.  Its also going to be a lot darker then usual.

The water was pretty dark last summer for the Centennial Sprint.  Hard to imagine it could get darker...

Hi my name is Matt and I am doing the Triathlon. I live on Linthicum Rd and this is my first tri!!

I used to cheer on everybody when I was very little and I always wanted to do it!

I do have one problem and that is that I do not have a wetsuit and do not feel comfortable in renting one. I was wondering if anybody has  a wetsuit that can be borrowed or is just laying around and can be used for a couple months.

What do you mean run/bike/run.. I hiiiighly doubt that will ever happen.  Viggo has too much riding on his races for them not to be what you paid for. 

Last year with the no wetsuit 83 degree Eagleman swim too. 

I must say that is interesting.  When I used to help and work this race in the years before they would "shock" the lake with very expensive chemicals to "balance" out the lake.  They would take multiple tempature and balance readings throughout the week leading up to the race.

Either way we shall find out.  I'm curious what the course would switch to...  Interesting stuff

Maybe once around the lake for run 1?

Where did you see a water temperature posted?

Maybe the Celebration/IronGirl 5k course -> normal bike course -> Celebration/IronGirl 5k course?

Seriously considering the Potomac River Sharkfest if the swim falls through.

Interesting with the limitation on the distance.  Maybe they will switch it to the 5k/5k for the run.  If thats the case, then man that'd be kinda hilly run.  Not too shabby though a lot easier in the park then when you get outside the park.

Once around the lake it 2.4 miles I believe.  But thats just the usual circle not adding any of the additional loops you can make up.

Where did they hear that? Isn't the standard long course duathlon 5k/40k/10k?

The swim is on.  Website updated at 10am this morning.

Very happy to hear this! (Though not without apprehension.) I'm sure I'd do much better in a du, as I'm a poor swimmer, but after all the time spent learning to swim this winter, I'd much rather do the real test. 

Is there any kind of BT folks meetup before or after the race? 

But I was going to use the fact that I hadn't trained specifically for a run/bike/run as my excuse for not doing well!

I'll be there spectating and would be open to a meetup. We did realize last year that the lake smell is amplified when you're sitting in a restaurant having lunch.
