Gooooood morning!

3:30am: 1:55/34 miles on trainer

Here's where I need some advice if you don't mind.  Was supposed to do a :59 run but I'm beginning to feel the inkling of the classic overuse injury in my right leg.  Rather than run I spent about 30 minutes stretching and rolling on the foam roller.  I plan to run my :59 tonight.  Tomorrow is my day off.  Should I skip the run and spend the next two days stretching and rolling or should I run and see how the leg feels?  I am 4 weeks out from my first HIM so the next three weeks are pretty heavy training.  Thanks for letting me turn this into an advice thread as well!

Good morning!

2,000 yard swim this AM for me.

I would replace the run today with a nice long walk. Aftwards, more rolling. Take your normal off day, then try the run on your next scheduled run day.

Have a great day!

Short easy run for me today and maybe an easy spin on the trainer.

No advice on the run except to say that I could never plan do run for :59 - I would HAVE to turn that into 60.

I get a lot of mileage out of the postponed workout. I like your idea. Run this afternoon and see how it goes. I think you'll be ready.

10.6 miles for me. Over the river and through the woods. Cold front came and it rained last night. This morning was perfect. Wish everyone on BT could have been here.

1000M in the pool and a 90min trainer ride this evening due to rain in the Midwest. . .

As for the possible injury, I personally would skip a day on running but it is my stronger suit.  I agree with stretching, some walking and some more stretching after.

I have no advice for you, since I'm fairly new to all this. Today is an off day, trivia with friends tonight. We came in second in last week's championships, kinda like going to prom with a friend. Fun, but not as much fun as it could have been. Training week starts all over again tomorrow.

x whatever on the walking, rolling.

I did nothing at all today but stuff my face and get a serious butt-kicking deep-tissue massage. YAY, ME!

Besides, it's me burfday

47 minute run this morning.  Dang, it was cold outside.

To the OP's question, if it were me I would still do the run.  But I would take it super easy and reduce my pace from my normal training pace to ensure that its a light and easy run.

Pool is still closed, so my swim training is suffering.  Replaced my normal Monday morning swim with  P90X strength training with my hubby....baseball this evening, so p.m. workout.  Next tri is not until September...need to find something to keep me focused until then!

I can only offer an opinion on the possible overuse injury...Please listen to your body!!  You've trained so hard for your upcoming first HIM, and it's getting SO close!  May be best to walk/stretch/roll for the next couple of days.   Good luck!  Smile
