I got one of the Rev3 visors from the race in Knoxville, and decided for the first time to run with a visor or hat.  Does everyone wash these after every single run? I'm thinking it would get gross quick.

I almost never wash mine and yes it does get gross quickly.  My wife won't touch my running hats.  That said my Mom always washed hats in the dishwasher with a mixing bowl inside to keep the general form in tact.  I'd imagine this would work for a visor too.

When I can smell mine when it is on my head I wash it. This is generally about once a month. I put mine in the washing machine. But then I have a more gentle front loader, I probably wouldn't put it in an old style washer. I don't use the dryer, i let them air dry.

I tend to wash mine once a week.  Sometimes I go longer.  I just air dry it.  The hats are holding up very well under that schedule

I usually take mine into the shower with me and wash it with shampoo then let air dry.  I throw it in the washing machine every now and then whenever I think about it.  My old style regular washing machine doesn't seem to hurt it.

After every use. Buy more hats/visors. I stick to the Headsweats brand because they are not sold as a "brand name" product.

I use my dishwasher for washing running visors and hats as well as running and biking shoes.

^^ THIS  -  Plus I have at least 3 headsweat supervisors I rotate to keep from having to smell myself too often.  :-)

I toss them in a lingerie bag and into the wash with my other sports clothes.  Not as often as I probably should.  The bag is more of an indication to pull it out of the load before the rest goes in the dryer than something to protect the hat.

This.  No special care, old style washer.  Hang to dry.  I wash after nearly every run but on occasion they'll get a second use before washing.  With the amount of sweat mine gets in a single summer time run I can't imagine not washing.

It is blasphemy to wash a good hat that is well worn in with sweat stains and is a bit mangy.  That's an item of pride.  The more it grosses out my wife and daughters, the better.

Thank you! I was starting to wonder what sort of clean freaks inhabit BT. Hats get worn - no washing - until they're falling apart.

Right on! When people can smell your hat before they see you that is when your hat has achieved perfection.  Weird weird weird washing a hat.  I've spent years cultivating my favorite visor and then some fool at a tri was spraying the crowd as they ran past his house to cool us off.  That eroded a good 9 months of awesome sweat stains.

I just keep it on when I get in the shower, it gets lathered up with the same soap I wash my body with and then hang it up on the towel hook to dry.  It's ready to go again the next day.  Looks as good as new and smells good too.

Wash mine all the time and air dry them. I see no change in visors (head sweats) and little shrink in hats, they stretch after wearing though.

I do this exactly, down to the front loading machine. I wash it on gentle with the rest of my running/biking/swimming attire. Air dry it all. No problems so far.

love my headsweats visor.  I wash it about once a week, or every other week.  Throw it in the wash on delicate/hand wash and air dry.  Comes out nice and clean!

I usually hop in my pool with it still on... then hang to dry.. a good rinse after a hot run keeps it fresh...

Now I feel dirty...I have never washed any of mine! Of course the ones I currently have are only around 2 years old but still I guess that is pretty nasty. They don't really smell...maybe I just don't train hard enough. Tongue out

Thanks for all of the good info though!
