On Sunday July 31st there will be a Century ride on the Liberty bike course out of Baker Park. It is being put on by Twin Cities Multisport Club. Free if you are a member and only $10 if not. After canceling my trip to Madison to ride the course I decided to do this instead. It is set up so you can do loops of the Oly course in order to get up to a Century.

Do you have to do the century?  I wouldn't mind riding a good 70 or so.  I have the Tour Dr Tonka century ride the following weekend...

Yuck, I have sworn off that loop for a while   Have fun, though!

I am going to head out on the Dakota trail to the end in Mayer, starting very early on Saturday.  There and back (from my house) will be about 60 miles.  The best part is a planned stop at Sunsets for breakfast on the way home.  Also prepping for the TdT.

If anyone wants to meet early (we'd be to Wayzata by 6:30 I am hoping) and join the husband and me, we'd love to have you.

I am hoping that going early will avoid the issue with traffic on that trail.  We're NOT going to be riding at mach speed, but would like to ride freely and hopefully not have to stop too much at intersections.  Hopefully this won't be a total bust.

You can do as many loops as you want. I believe the loops are about 24 miles each.

What time does it start? May seriously consider doing 50 if family issues don't intervene. Thanks

Roadie atmosphere w/ Road Bikes and people on TT bikes being scoffed at? Or triathletes welcome;-

Do you know if it'll be organized groups with pacelines or is just just a bunch of people tt'ing w/ support?

Can I suck your wheel the whole time if there are no pacelines? ;-)

I looked all over the TCMC web site and couldn't find a single thing about this.  I thought I would save Bryan the trouble of having to answer these questions. How annoying...

It's generally about 50/50 between road and tri bikes.  You'll be fine with whatever you've got.  It's very low-key.  Antics that would get you kicked out of any serious roadie ride won't even raise an eyebrow here.

Groups tend to form based on average speed, but "organized" is a stretch.  Don't expect any rotating pacelines or echelons since 95% of triathletes have no idea how to do these things.

You're also much more likely to find yourself riding solo as the day goes on since many folks head home after a loop or two.

Sure.  I did this ride back in May, and thanks to getting blackout drunk the night before I couldn't take any serious pulls.  Nobody cared.

It's put on by Twin City Multisport Club so more than likely a lot of Tri bikes. Yea Jared, you can suck my wheel. Try not to fall asleep though. You must have got the need for pace lines after watching the big groups go by at Chisago. (anybody reading anything into that please know when Jared blew by me like I was standing still he was clearly not drafting anyone). I think you could find plenty of groups to ride with or TT all on your own. I decided to blow off my trip to Madison this weekend so I'm just looking for other people to help drag me through a 6 hour ride. They get awfully long and lonely always doing them on your own.
