Subject: My first podium finish!
It finally happened. My first season in this sport, my 11th and final tri of the season, in the 40-44 AG, in an Olympic distance race, I managed a 3rd place today. Granted, I'm guessing probably a dozen or less in my AG in this very small race, but hey, a medal is a medal. Just as a point of reference, my time today was a paltry 2:46. 2nd place was around 2:38, and the winner of my AG was 2:05! I'm claiming he missed one of the three bike loops, but the more likely excuse is that he was actually a good triathlete and the rest of us were mediocre. I'll take the medal anyway. Woot!

Congratulations Jay!  Finish the season with a victory...that's the way to do it.  Now carry that high into next season.  I'm looking forward to my 70.3 training as well.

Thanks! Yeah, Muddy Buddy is going to be a blast. Got out on the mtb today for the first time in a LONG time to get used to it. I'll report when Muddy Buddy is done!

yea i remember my first, it was a 2oK bike TT, i was second in my AG. I was so proud there was 2 us in the age group. and i swear that kid was not 18, i wanted to see his ID.
