MN ROLL CALL - Buffalo (Page 3)

You can add me, Birkierunner = Jim (although I'm from just across the river in WI, Denise told me to visit the MN forum) Don't know what I'll be wearing yet. If its cool enough early AM I'll have a red NYC Marathon jacket on.

Just got a blast e mail from the RD. He said TX style BBQ will served post race.. hmmm.. ribs..

I'm not quite sure what I'll be wearing pre-race yet, but I can't tell you that I'll remember what all of you are going to be wearing either!

So, is the plan to meet around 7:45 by the playground?

A couple of days, and I'll be a triathlete! Last weekend, I became a duathlete. Looking forward to it!

Anyone going to see Chris Legh's presentation at Start Line @7pm tonight?

If so, I'd be up for coordinating a carb-load session prior to that.

I won't be at the one tonight, but I'm going to try really hard to get to the one tomorrow (at 4, I think?). Anyone else going to be in Buffalo tomorrow night for dinner?

Sorry guys/gals, I was so wrapped up in getting my transition area ready and warming-up I zoned-out and forgot to hit the playground to meet everyone. Hope everyone had a great race. That headwind on the bike wasn't too fun. I managed to take the AG win in the 40-49 (23rd overall) in the Olympic, although 2 guys in that same age bracket were in the elite wave (including one of my training buddies) so I really should have placed 3rd. Got a nice HR monitor for the prize though. This was my first Buffalo and I really enjoyed the race and organization/logistics, etc. Maybe I'll get around to filing a race report this week.

Congrats Jim! Those were some really nice prizes for the folks that placed. Cool.

No idea what my splits were, but according to the posting, I did the Sprint in 1:18:38. I pushed pretty hard the whole way, except transitions, as this was my first tri in nearly 18 years. Just TRIed to keep out of everyone elses way and nearly forgot to take my helmet off befort running - now that would've been a sight. I did do the whole run with a spare innertube in the side pocket of my tri shorts -nice, I know... Will do a race report when the splits are available.

One highlight was coming out of T2 with Chris Legh - couldn't hang with him though...

It was great inspiration seeomg the other BT'ers before the race. Can't wait to see the group photo!

Congrats on all of you who competed this morning!

Nice job all of you! I had to leave early for my daughter's graduation so i wasn't there when you all finished but you guys did a great job! It also was fun to meet you all!

Sorry I didn't meet with you guys, I didn't keep my eyes on the forum and was unaware you guys were meeting. Oops! Don't think I am one of "those" people that only cares for himself. :-)

Not sure yet. I was signed up for Minneman but I bought a new house and am closing that weekend. Moving, real fun! So I sold my slot to fellow BTer kkokal. SO as of now I am just doing a couple of 5ks for the rest of the year. I am thinking about another tri in the august timeframe but I am getting married in September and things are getting really busy with planning for that. So we will see!
