Pre-race routine:

Drove up to the race site. NO signs on how to find where the race was. Took a tour of JB starkey park. Pulled in and saw Jess and Renee but their race started before I made it back to the parking lot from registration.
Event warmup:

RAN to the bathroom. Stood in line to register they were less than organized. Stretched. No numbers for the 5K and no T-shirts left.

Comments:

Out and back on trail. Trail running favors me. I like the cushion. Small race. No numbers for the 5K and they ran out of T-shirts. It was a good run for me. Still having lots of hip muscle pain.

They didn't really have rankings. I know I was 31st. I think I was the only one in my age group. They only gave out overall male and female awards. WOOHOO turns out this is a PB for me by 4 seconds...who knew!! Actually they Aren't all that sure it was exactly a 5K. The organizers said they drove the course in a car it is accurate...then they were like "well we aren't exactly sure where they started driving" ? I'll take it at anyrate :)
What would you do differently?:

need more running time
Post race
Warm down:

Walked around. Hung out waiting for Jess and Renee to finish. Tried to make contact to get the part for my bike. Got Roo fixed :)

What limited your ability to perform faster:

I suck at running and still recovring from injury

Event comments:

VERY unorganized. No drink stations on the 5K but it is cool enough they weren't needed. Small race. I kinda of got the feeling they just kind of didn't give a crap about the whole thing and kind of thru in the 5K in addition to the 1/2 mary, 50K and 50 milers going on. I like trail running so I would do the race againfor that reason only.

Awesome job-- so great to read that the hip is getting stronger, and I hope that twinge of pain is not lingering.

as a sagacious woman once said, "Injuries suck!"
