I just booked my notell-motel. For those that haven't done so yet, I'd recommend doing so pronto. The pickings are slim and the prices will only increase.

Only 20 weeks to go. If you haven't thought much about trainer, you might want to start NOW!

Hey guys - I really wish I was in there with you. Well, I kinda wish...

Anyhoo, I am going to be doing a modified bit of training from IMCDA. See, I am moving to Texarkana next week, and my BIL, who did IMAZ with me last year, lives there and is training for IMCDA. I told him I would do the long rides with him.

Sooooo, what I am thinking is that I will target Buffalo Springs Lake 70.3, which is on the same day, and just be super-fit for the bike.

And, as part of the selling-the-old-house and moving-to-a-new-house, we are going to have a little bit of cash left over, so I might be able to, ahem, invest in my sport a little. I sure do like the new Felt S22...

This is my first Ironman so I just plan on going with the flow. I want it to be a positive experience so have been listening to what my body is telling me, avoiding overtraining and hopefully on the day it will come together. Got into this great sport later than most - am 56 years old, so don't have any expectations - other than finishing!
Weather in Vancouver, B.C. the last few months has not been good for biking - 40 plus days of
continuous rain. However, can always find a group to get out with and log up the miles.

IMCDA...WoooooooooooooooHooooooooooooooooooo

My first Ironman (my first tri, probably unless I find a shorty before then). I am here is CDA, so any help you need let me know. Weather is awesome last couple of days. Been able to run outside and swim in the lake (just kidding on the swim). I am D3 20 week program and it is going good.

Let's get all the BTer's for IMCDA together post race. If you are staying for a couple of days I will host! See ya.

Hey Phil!! Glad to see that the transition is in full swing.  Please PM me your new address info, etc.  I think BSL will be a fun race for you...you are strong on the bike, and from what I understand, the bike course there is pretty cool.

Hope everyone's training is coming along nicely.  I am training my rear off, but have had a rough week on the running side...trying to work my way into a new running style and it is quite a mental test for me.

Looking forward to seeing everyone in CDA !!

You live in Texarkana?  I didn't think anyone actually lived there...

See you at Buffalo Springs!   It's a great race...you should definitely do it!

Oh Crap, only 134 days, 21 hours,35min.,47 seconds.     They have the 06 Schedule up on the website.  Got Butterflies as I read it.

I'm going to be such a geek, going around trying to fill goodie bags with stuff.  Plus my eyes will be as big as saucers.

Ya, I'll be there early as well. If I remember correctly, I roll in on Thursday and leave on Tuesday. I'd be down to group up and ride the run course, drive the bike course, etc.

I'm pretty sure I arrive Wednesday and leave Monday morning...have to double-check that.  I did not even think of anything going on Monday, but I'm now wondering if I should stay until Tuesday

The race awards ceremony is on Monday, as well as registration for next years race if any of us are feeling especially confident that this year won't kill us!  As far as driving the bike course before the race, I have a Suburban and can haul probably 7 people.  Let me know if any of you want to do something like that.  And riding the run course, say, sometime between Wednesday and Friday, would be a good thing to do too.  Sounds like we're going to have the biggest BT contingent of any Ironman this year so let's have a great time!

Just checked my hotel reservations...seems I am accidentally smarter than I thought.  I get there Thursday and leave Tuesday.

I'm interested in getting together beforehand as well.  I'll have the familia with me, as this is also a "vacation" (for them, at least)...

I'll be there Thurs - Tues. I would love to do a group thing as well. As far as before hand, we will have a lot of things to do pre race, so if we ride/drive the course, I would like to do it early Fri or late thurs.

Tom,

Are all the cows coming with you?  Maybe your cows and my.....Johnsonlings can get together while we drive the course??

Also, do you know anything about the kids' race or other family friendly IM festivities?

Oh yeah the whole cow family will be there and I'm sure they would love someone to hang with. I don't know much about the other family IM activities. My daughter isn't big on competition I do know there is a waterpark not too far from us, so hopefully they can do that

There's a water park right there in CDA and then about 20 minutes north of CDA there's a large amusement/water/wave park that's a lot of fun.  Families shouldn't have too much trouble finding something to do.

Thurs - Tues as well.  Love to do a group check out the course somehow.

I'm also towing a wife, 5 yo girl and 4 yo boy that would love to play with some others if that works out.

I'm with Flyboy. I have a truck that will seat 5 (including me) so we could get a good group to cruise the course on Thu/Fri. I worked the bike course last year so real familiar with it. Sounds like everyone is leaving around Tuesday, do let's get together pre-race or maybe on Monday for lunch.

I am going to get an email out to everyone registered through BT for IMCDA, so pass it around if you see someone who I missed.

Looking forward to June 25th. See you all then.

Here I am with a Sore throat (going away, sorta into my chest now) wife ask me if I doing enough training.  Says I only have 4 months to go.   Thanks dear.

Mental Hurdles:  Getting enough time in the 4 months to get alot of bike miles.  And to do a couple long training days to explore the nutrition X Factor.

Other than that, I feel good about everything.  I should be able to swim 2.4 in about 1:30 or better (guess),  I should be able to ride 112 miles in 7 hours or less (<img align='middle' src='https://beginnertriathlete.com/discussion/images/emoticons/surprise.gif'>) and run  5 + something Marathon.  Plus a bunch of minutes in the T1 & T2.   Seems so simple.  So what am I missing?

Hi

First time Ironman from the UK here! Ready? not a chance! will be in 18 weeks though!

Feel a bit unorganised as everyone is mentioning personal training plans and I don't have one but have a rough plan that I adapt to what my body is telling me...sure it will work out! It's only swimming biking and running after all!

Also in CDA from Thursday to Tuesday and would be keen to do a group recce of the course and possibly a few celebratory beers on Monday.

Cheers
