Pro  4174    Keller, Texas |  Subject: I'm a Texan!!Got here in one piece! I think I am going to really like being a Texan. So far the weather is nice. We got our stuff and I have my running shoes and bike stuff unpacked. It is a lot differene here than in Maryland. Things happen slower and that is going to take some getting used to. We are living in Keller, so if anyone has any suggestions for bike or run routes, I would be most appreciative. I guess I have to get used to saying Y'all!

There's a guy there named Cody Brewer who has done either 5 or 6 IMs...he is very knowledgeable, and very nice. As for Double Daves, well, that place is downright DELICIOUS....especially the pepperoni rolls! |

Keep the advice coming! Pizza: Double Dave's is "okay"--better than Dominoes or Pappa Johns, but nothing special. Although it's a hike from Keller, Pastazios (http://www.pastazios.com) is the best pizza I've found in the Dallas metroplex (they have a Dallas and an Addison location). Another good choice (also in Dallas, proper) is Fireside Pies (kind of trendy and has long waits if you want to eat there). www.guidelive.com is a decent resource for events, restaurants, etc. It is owned and run by the Dallas Morning news but you do not need to be a subscriber to use the site. I will warn you that I've found the restaurant reviews to be hit-and-miss. It's a decent site to get you started. Good luck and welcome to the area! Bill |
