Swim
Comments: I couldn't see where the markers where. I had a really bad swim...could've down better. Need a wetsuit that doesn't resist ME! What would you do differently?: Really check out the course before I went for it. If the weather was better I might have swam the day before. Transition 1
Comments: It was hard to do anything with frozen hands and wet everything. I took my time here. Dried off, put warm layers on, ate then went out. What would you do differently?: Not much I could do in the rain. At least I kept my stuff dry with garbage bags. Bike
Comments: I had the best bike ride of my life. I felt great. I couldn't have been happier...well..maybe if I went a little harder. What would you do differently?: Not be so afraid to push myself. Transition 2
Comments: This was a good transition, minus the fact that I had to pee sooooo bad!!! What would you do differently?: Pee'd on the bike...LOLOLOLOLOL Run
Comments: I could've done without the pavement, but at least I felt good on the second part of the run...I wished I had broken the two hour threshold :o{ What would you do differently?: Push myself a bit more in the beginning. I felt good on the last half...I did a negative split...which always makes me happy. Post race
Warm down: Chat with friends, eat, pack up and ride back to the hotel. What limited your ability to perform faster: Faith. Event comments: At one point on the bike my chapstick fell out of my bento box and I turned around to pick it up...I know, I know...I'm crazy..but I felt bad about littering AND I really liked that chapstick. Probably lost about a minute with the whole ordeal. BUT in the grand scheme of things the whole race was great. I wish everyone could feel as good as I did on the bike. I kept looking down and saying "are these my legs". I PR'd my 56 mile bike distance by about 1 hour...so I'm pretty stoked. Had a MAD chocolate chip cookie afterwards that had four different types of chocolate chips in it and little caramel chunks! Also I had the greatest coffee at Nautical Bean in Oceanside...made me want to move down there. :) Last updated: 2006-03-20 12:00 AM
