  • 4156 yards
  • 01m 28s / 100 yards
Comments:

my garmin died, once again going into the water and handed it off to David, so no data all day or time, saw 1:19 on swim exit and just thought it was a slower swim not realizing i had made some good improvement over IMSG
What would you do differently?:

uh...swim faster to get further in front of the fray
Transition 1
  • 09m 41s
Comments:

not allowed to leave shoes on bike so long run in shoes to reach bike but otherwise ok
Bike
  • 6h 23m 47s
  • 112 miles
  • 17.51 mile/hr
Comments:

coach said not to wear arma and leg warmers but glad i did along with full finger gloves, race wheels 404s seemed to work well, saw lots of 808's with full discs, took off warmers and gloves at special needs and exchanged fuel bottles, used triple strength infinit only on the bike
What would you do differently?:

use power meter to increase intensity in training
Transition 2
  • 08m 18s
Comments:

they grabbed bike at dismount and glad i left bike shoes on it, my feets were killing me and it was tough to walk..don't know what that was about, limpy,
Run
  • 4h 35m
  • 26.2 miles
  • 10m 30s  min/mile
Comments:

put on full sleeve cover up at special needs, trots starting at mile 18 sucked and of course no TP led to painful rash, cramps before trots started, dumped my flasks at that point because i knew i couldn't drink them, switched to all coke after that point which felt good to belch up, walked a little at mile 24 but then started hearing the crowds and wanted to get it over with, used hammer gels diluted on fuel belt>only started with 2 bottles and replaced at SN's
Post race
Warm down:

line of 15 people to get photo so i skipped that, david was waiting and had the car nearby so headed back to the condo pretty quick, ice bath for 5' which was tough esp with diaper rash, then jumped inthe shower, drank a couple cokes with friends and family and ate a big burger..hung out for awhile but quickly faded off
