Well my streak officially ended last night at midnight while I was deep asleep having not run at all for the day yesterday.  It was a good run and I have no problem not running - was very tired and just needed to sleep.

New streak starts tonight!

Bummer. Yell

Remember, walking a mile is totally legal and an acceptable method of complying with the streaking regulations. Tongue out

My running is going great!  I have a planned 20 minute run tomorrow.  I might try to run the whole thing!  I'm so excited with how fast my ankle is healing.  On the down side, I can't unclip from my pedals.  I have to unstrap the shoe and slide my foot out.  It just can't do any lateral movement without intense pain.  I guess it's time to practice flying dismounts! Tongue out

Got my one mile in tonight...it was probably the slowest run mile in recorded history, but done.  All the road trip food and holiday treats have officially done me in.  Tomorrow, I start eating clean again because this body just isn't feeling good.  Hence, the slow one mile tonight.  Looks like tomorrow is a new day for many of us! Happy Friday!  3 miles done today after 30 miles on the trainer watching Dean Karnazes 50 Endurance Challenge (50 marathons in 50 days in 50 states...amazing).

Just found out both girls have been invited to a friend's farm overnight...bow-chica-wow-wow!  Cool

Great! I got my 2+ miles in this morning. Super hilly. I mean ridiculous. Running down one of the hills, I had to run from side to side rather than straight down because it was so steep.

But the view was amazing. I remember So Cal having more air pollution. Maybe those emissions standards/laws are having a positive affect.

Had a great 10km trail run today, then met up with some old friends and walked the whole thing again!

Merry Christmas Eve Streakers!

7 mile run this morning. I have come to the conclusion that my Saucony Cortanas are not the shoe for me.  My achilles gets very sore anything over 5 miles and my knees ache when I'm done...in 15 years of running my knees have never bothered me until running in the Cortanas.  I was in the Kinvaras, moved to the Cortanas.  I don't think minimalist is the way to go for me.  Back to a neutral cushioned normal shoe for me!

Christmas day already here in Australia!

My longish run yesterday was in my NB Minimus trail shoes and I had no pain in my knees following it. I've battled with ITBS for years and had reached a point where I kept on top of it with motion control shoes, an insole in my right shoe and foam rolling.

I'm really hoping my barefoot and minimalist shoes will be my answer, so far it's looking like it is!

Merry Christmas to you already, and to everyone else in a few hours.

My everyday shoes are minimalist -- the Merrill Pace Glove. I love them, but I don't run much in them. I have a pair of Saucony something or other -- not the super fancy ones -- maybe Pro Grid?

Anyway -- I got sick yesterday at about noon, while touring an orange grove. I still ran a mile this morning, but that's really all I could handle. I'm feeling a little better this evening, but my throat really only feels fine if I'm drinking something hot -- so I've been drinking a lot of hot water with honey and fresh lemon in it.

We have only a week to go on the streak. Even with some of our setbacks, we've done a great job keeping this going.

Managed to get a beach run in after Christmas lunch, I'd already had a big lunch and some wine but made my excuses and ran off down the beach!

Merry Christmas! Sounds like some nice Christmas runs in...I actually did a 12 miler today! Felt good...did a lot of climbing in the first half of the run--I have some great desert mountain trails to choose from.  Now I am in pjs and slippers and plan to stay in for the rest of the day and finally just hang out (but of course I'll be multi-tasking:  painting nails, writing up the training schedule for the week, catching up on some reading and enjoying my last day of munching out on allllll the treats we still have left!)

Merry Christmas!  I got a 6+ miler done.  Ankle was unhappy about it.  Right now, I'm sitting on the couch with my foot elevated and a big glass of red wine on the end table!  Cheers to Christmas Streakers! Kiss

I got lost in the hills and ended up running five miles this afternoon.

I hope everyone had a great day. I ate too much. Blech.
