Subject: RW Run Challenge: Thanksgiving-New Year's Day

Hello!  Wondering if anyone is interested in the Runner's World one mile a day challenge from Thanksgiving-January 1st?  I  log my workouts on BT so I thought I'd start the challenge here! The goal is to run at least one mile every single day beginning tomorrow through January 1.  I'm totally in!

I'll try!! I think I can at least speed walk a mile if I'm sick. I think. Today is Thanksgiving and I've already got my first mile of the challenge down.

Happy Thanksgiving, BTW? How do we log with RW?

And we're off and, uhhh, running! Got my three miles in at my Turkey Trot this am. Tomorrow I'll be on my KK but will throw in a one miler afterwards. Saturday I plan to sign up for a, gulp, marathon.

Awesome start, Bill and Kim! Kim, congratulations on your big step towards a marathon! You have the discipline to do a great job with the training and run. Go for it!

I've been up since 3:30am thing morning for Black Friday shopping. Didn't get home till after 8pm from our last round, and had a gut full of Chinese food, but I busted out a 5k for the challenge (and to burn off the sweet and sour pork, ai!).

Go, Streakers!

Here's my running total:
11/24: 4 miles
11/25: 3.2 miles

Wow...if I had a gut full of Chinese don't think I'd be able to bust off the couch! 60 mins on the bike this am followed by a one mile run-my first 'brick' since my June HIM. Heading into Salt lake City for the post Black Friday crazy deals...there should be some stuff left!

This morning I'm off for a 15-20 mile bike ride with some friends. I'll toss in a mile or two later.

Hey, Kim. How did your Turkey Trot go? Did everyone obey the rules for dress and gobble?

I'm in for this one, as long as one mile counts.

Yesterday I ran 7.25 miles

Today I ran 4 miles

We may be traveling over Christmas, so it's going to be a little rough, but maybe this will keep me motivated to get out there at least a little every day.

Hi, I'm new to BT and also signed up for the RW Streakers challenge as well.  I did a Gobble Wobble on Thanksgiving day (5K) and logged 2 miles today with heavy hands and sauna suit top.  I've completed like 10 events this year all first (completed Annapolis Inaugaral Half Marathon on 11/19/11); and I might do a 15k in Quiet Waters Park in Annapolis on December 10.  I wanted to finish the year with the DC Hot Chocolate 15K but waited too long to register.  I realized today that this will probably be the only year where I register 10 or 11 personal best Wink

Welcome, Elliot, to BT and challenge!

Logged in 1.5 very painful miles today. Had a mountain bike ride that jacked me up! Got tossed a dozen times, and have a billion sword grass cuts all over my arms and legs. Bruises galore. Got 'er done though, very slowly.

Go, Streakers!

We have sustained winds of 27 today, gusting to 37 mph. Can I wear this to make the mileage easier?

Well, we have ourselves a party goin' on here! Welcome all!  Can we do a name roll call?  My first name is Kim.

Oooof...that is windy.  The suit is hot though! Ha!  I wonder if it'd make my butt look big?  Tongue out  We're going Christmas tree hunting today up in Christmas Tree Canyon, I plan to bring along my running shoes and get a mile or two done up there!   I will post back when it's officially done!

Kansas:  it was great! Only about 20 people showed up, but there was a lot of gobbling and silly outfits!

Did Day 2 of Jorge's plan this morning and then went out in the wind for a 30 minute run.

My name is Felicia, and I did not wear a flying squirrel suit for my run this afternoon, although my time would have benefited from it.

Hi, Kim and Felicia. I'm Blanda. What a hoot taking that flying squirrel suit out on a windy run would have been!

I'll join in if that's ok??

I was planning to try to do easy runs on my "no run" days as an experiment; some people say it's great for your running, others say it's a recipe for injury. We'll see?

btw I'm David

Hi, Tracy and David!

Got my 1 mile in today. It was an un-timed warm up mile for a soccer game.
