Tried to figure out a pacing guide to work with, so I did a 5km all out sprint after my swim workout this am. 5km in 24.58min. I really gave it my all. Know my question. Essentially, should I input this into the Macmillan calculator and set up a pacing guide off of that? Use those numbers for recovery, long runs.... Etc?

Yes most def . That's real close to 8min pace on the 5K . Entering that data in The Macmillan numbers that it suggested made sense to me. like speedwork 400m intervals at 1:49- 1:56 and a half marathon goal of around 1:55 etc . Projecting to longer distances of course is very much dependent on endurance workouts . |
