I have been using mine for four days not, got it Firday, but only for running so far. It is easy to use and easy to set up. Lots of different data you can display while working out. I have or had a 405 that I replaced with this since I am going to start tris this year and it is a little slower picking up the satellites that the 405 was, other than that it has been great so far. I do not need it on my bike trainer, I have a Lemond Revolution with the computer so that collects all the data I would collect from the 910. I am looking forward to riding and swimming with it though but that will not be until spring. There is too much snow on the ground and ice on the lake for the swimming.

That reminds me, I need to go check the tracker to see where in the country mine is right now.  It's a frigging watch and we are all worse then kids at Christmas.  Too funny.  Who knew there were so many people who needed a watch to count laps?  lol

I can't wait to get mine but have to until the ZOOT camp April 1st-2nd. We'll have a Garmin rep. there o discuss the 901 and all it's features. Please post any comments, good or bad, in this thread and I will be sure to share with the Garmin people. They would welcome the real world feedback.

Question for all you that have the 910xt... I have a 405 w/ heart rate strap...if I already have the heart rate strap can I just order the 910xt one with out, and will it still pick up my heart rate with the 405 strap..

Hope that makes some sense

Like the above said, it will. I have another heart rate strap but wanted this new cloth one so I got another since mine is from a 305 and is hard plastic. Is it tomorrow yet???

I have only used it for running and biking (swim tomorrow). Just as easy as the 310xt to use/setup. There have been some reported issues with regards to pace readings being a bit sporadic while on the run (check the ST thread for more on this). Using the foot pod on the treadmill, I had to adjust the settings a bit to match speed/distance (nothing unusual there). On the bike, it picked up the power meter and speed/cadence sensor quickly (have not had any pairing issues). The new HR monitor and strap are very comfortable. I have smaller wrists and the watch is a great fit. Overall, very happy.

FYI: make sure to update the garmin ANT agent software and pair the watch with the GPS at least oncce before your first workout (I didnt and lost the days training data).

None of this is too novel, but if you have any questions feel free to shoot them over.

I got mine yesterday.  I set it up and ran with it today.  I do not use a footpod.   The pacing was way off.  I had it set up to  lap at a mile and then show me my laps.    I did 5 miles at an 8:37 avg.  Every time I looked down to see what my pace was, it never showed below a pace of 9:30  and several times it showed that I was running 10:30 or 11:30 pace.  I could tell that I was running way faster than that.  They def. need to fix the pacing.     Other than that, I find that the 910 fits my tiny wrist a lot better than my 405 does.    I am going to swim with it tomorrow and will report back.

I've always had auto lap every mile and just used the lap average pace to estimate things as I have never felt the instant pace was accurate on my 305 and 405.

Ditto, I only ever use avg.  Pace on a GPS device is never instant pace.  It's darn near impossible for it to do.  Some do a 10 sec delay.  Some do something different.

I have found that the calorie estimate is way low , not that it matters to me but it may to some people. I am using the heart rate strap, the new one that came with the watch and today I ran 8.1 tempo miles, miles 2-6 at 10k pace. Most of the run was is zone 4 and it said I only burned 597 calories. I would venture a guess that it was about 200 calories low. I do not count calories so like I said that does matter to me but it may to some people.

I agree the instant pace has never been very accurate on any Garmin watch that I or my friends have used. Just use current lap pace and set it for every mile.

Agree and disagree with this.  My instant pace may be a little wonky from time to time on my 305, but it's never out to lunch like some people are posting for the 910.  In a race situation I do use the current pace + lap pace, something tells me a firmware update is in the future for this one...

My run with the 910xt yesterday.  I did get some funny readings with a HR spike of 228, but otherwise the data is pretty solid.  It does not seem to have the same issues as my iPhone with the MapMyRun app...

I just wish I read that you have to "reset" the workout to complete it.  I spent a bunch of time clicking start stop at the end trying to figure out why it said activity in progress.

I did my first swim with my 910xt.  I did a 500 warmup and the distance said 600.  I then did some intervals and everything was correct.  When I did my 200 cool down it was off again and read 250.  I am not sure if it was user error or if it is not counting laps correctly.

I understand the pace being off a little.  But over two minutes at times in my opinion is just too much. I found my 405 to be pretty accurate.  And for as much money as I spent on it, I would like to think it would actually do a better job at the pacing.

I posted this on the other 910 thread: Received mine on Friday.  I have the 310 so most of the setup was the same.  I did a trail run with it on Sunday.  The trail was wooded single track and very winding.  The GPS did not seem to perform as well as the 310.  There should be no reason for this though.  But I thought the pace was showing slow and the final distance was somewhat shorter than it should be. There were alot of switchbacks so if it records slower it could possibly miss some of them. I am running the trail again tomorrow.  I plan on wearing the 310 and 910 both and comparing them.

The swim feature was great.  I still have some things to learn about it.  But I had my main screen set up with time, average pace, distance and lengths.  I had it set up for a 25 yd pool swim.  Everything was right on the money.  This swim feature was the reason that I bought it. Since I had the 310.  So far I am very pleased. Looking forward to doing an open water swim with it.
