Getting something going here...I'm planning to ride the long course bike route Sunday, 1/29, at 2:30pm.  Any and all are welcome to join.  Pace will be near the 18mph mark.

I had planned to be on the start line at this race with you Bill, but life happens and I no longer will be making the trip to Cary. Hey Louis can take my place.

Have a good training day on the 29th and great race in April.

Boo Daryn!   I hope all is well, and I know full well of the curveballs life throws when you're expecting sliders.  Best of luck, we'll see you soon.

I am in for this, I need to decide if I want to sign up so this will be a good indicator!  Where are we starting?

Planned starting point is the transition area for the race, at Thomas Brooks Park.  The address is 9008 Green Level Church Road.  Here's a link to the bike route.  http://www.fsseries.com/uploads/44201184539_2011%20Cary%20Duathlon%20Race%20Maps.pdf

The route starts in the upper right side of the map, along Green Level Church.  There is plenty of parking there as well as bathrooms nearby should we need 'em.  If anyone wanted a short run afterwards, I could be persuaded

Debating as to using this race to start the season.

I can't make it this weekend, but next time, I will try to make it...

Happy training!

Hey folks-slight shift in plans; my wife has a baby shower to attend in the afternoon.  If we leave at 1pm, that will get me back in time for her to make about an hour of it.  Will that work?

On second thought, I'm going to have to bail. I've just had my fourth sloggish workout in four days. I think I'm run down or something. Maybe next time - have fun and be safe!

Sorry to hear that Carol, rest up!  Too early in the season to get run down.

Scottie and Jen-

1pm at Thomas Brooks Park, Green Level Church side.  I'll be in the E46 w/white Felt on top.

See y'all there!

Thanks for coming out to ride, and I apologize for my "slight" tardiness at the start.  Too many different bags to pull stuff from!

Also, sorry for the pick up of pace at the end, but my dear wife needed to attend the shower, and our entire afternoon got compressed from then on!  It was, however, a nice TT from Jean's Berry Patch back to the park

How'd y'all like those reverse-Big Woods hills?

I've always run Big Woods that way... so quite norm and I knew what to expect!

I didn't like the hills at the start and that really played a decision on me not wanting to do this race now. if I rode those hills at race pace, there'd be no juice left for my poor legs to run

Maybe i'm just having tired legs from my run increases...we'll see.

The crosswinds on 64 going across Jordan Lake I'm sure gave those riding DEEP a few hairy moments!  Guess that's one advantage of my low-profile wheels

That ride was certainly a wake up call that I have lost just a bit of bike fitness. I certainly have my work cut out for me the next 7 months!
