Took me a few years, but I managed to drop from 282 pounds and 36% bodyfat to 182 and 13.5%.

Eat smart, train smart, be patient but relentless and you'll get where you want to go too!

Fantastic brother! Thanks for posting. Hope to join you in the sub200 range soon. I will soon hit 100 pounds lost since my worst of 360, but I'm nowhere near close to finished.

That is freaking awesome!  Do you have any suggestions on how you were able to drop the last 20 or so pounds?  I was 315 and now 233.  I'm really having trouble with flab around my stomach.  Did you run into this issue?  I'm on year three, and really want to complete the transformation as you have...but the stomach flab in the front doesn't want to go away.

Thanks all!  I can't express how awesome it feels!

bchicks:  You have done fantastic!  I hovered with 20 pounds to go for a while myself...yeah, that last 20 was stubborn.  What it took was setting a cutoff date.  (which I missed by four days - oh well!).  I decided that I wanted to be at 185 for IMAZ, but didn't want to shortchange my building becuase I was always running a deficit trying to get down to weight, so I quit worrying about training for performance for a while and focused on weight loss.  Still plenty of strength training and cardio, but cut carbs.  I figured it was smarter to lose my weight then I could eat enough to support my basal rate + all my workouts, rather than spending the entire time between now and IMAZ (November) running a calorie deficit.  Carb cutting was key - not cutting it out like Atkins or anything, though.

Totally impressive. I've shown your photos to a dozen people.

Can you share some recollections of how your athletic ability changed with your heady to toe remodel? Where we're you at when you started, halfway, etc? I gather you are doing Ironmans now. Just amazing - congratulation.

WOW, that's incredible.  Makes me think there's still hope for me to get to my goal weight of 160.  Been fighting these last 15-20 pounds for 2 years now.  Thanks for the inspiration.
