I'm a smart CPA that made the switch from public accounting to corporate America working as a Controller.

I say smart because I'm able to fool around on BT all day while the other CPAs are slaving away during tax season.

Not seeing any other CPAs post to the thread kinda proves my point.

jmcconne - 2012-03-22 1:01 PM IT Operations.  Very glamorous. Let me know if anyone is ever interested in hearing about what I do, because my wife is definitely not.

Health Care IT here - my wife only wants to hear about my day when she's having trouble sleeping.

We also have a small coffee roasting business (see sig) that occupies the part of my day not consumed by my 'real' job or dedicated to family time.

I'm the Canadian equivalent of a CPA

I don't have a job. I get lots of unemployment, though. I use it to travel to races. And buy bikes and whiskey.

Hey, at least I'm not buying beer with it!

I'm sponsored, so all my gear comes from a great company called iDirect.....all I have to do in return is turn up every day, put in a 60 to 80 hour work week as the Director of NPI (new product introduction) and they take care of all my sporting needs....  :-)

does that count as sponsored?  ;-)

didn't fluctuate much this month :-(  hence I was in the pool at 10pm through 11.30 last night.

It does come and go, but at 60 hours I can get in training in the morning or later in the evening after kids are settled. that's manageable, this month...not so much.

But honestly...I can get in training because I have a wife that supports it and puts up with me hitting the gym early or late, and puts up with me taking a time out Sunday for long training sessions.

Hee hee. Don't take it personally. My DH and I still laugh about the time I fell asleep while he was explaining some IT problem he was trying to solve. Now he's a statistician, which is even less comprehensible to me.

I have many jobs .... my income pretty much goes directly into my bike(s).

I am in the midst of transitioning from stay-at-home to mom to "Director of Relations" for a local triathlon production company, and I also own a Race Promotion business with my sister, where my title is "Head Diva" and I get to do what I want all day, resulting in fun PR opportunities and lots of free race entries.  I do get a lot of freebies, which is nice.
