Subject: RE: Pee on the bike? Seriously?Wash bike shoes in dishwasher to remove smell take insoles out open them facing down, wash them with dishwashing soap, and remove them prior to dry cycle. Put newspaper in shoes to absorb water. If you have a shoe/boot drier use that if not put in the sun to dry. Running shoes I wash without insoles and again use newspaper and boot drier. Those of you new to tris the concept seems odd. Doing a sprint or oly for most they can urinate on the swim and be fine rest of the race. Longer races it becomes an issue. Porta Pottys are not always available when you need to use one. It takes practice.....many need to stop to urinate while swimming; down hill coasting on the bike is easiest and yes check behind you for other athletes and remove your water bottle, rinse with water bottle; run go before aid station and splash/dump water on your crotch as you go through the aid station. If you have to go and are trying to hold it, can negatively effect your race. Urine is sterile when it comes out of your body. |
