About three years ago we went whitewater rafting for weekend, and it was a total blast. If you've never been, I highly recommend it. We also did a day of kayak floating down a calmer river, so it was both adventurous and relaxing in the same trip. We went to the Northern Outdoors resort in The Forks, Maine, which is clearly not SE, but I'm sure there are plenty of places in the south to choose from.

I'm going to climb the high points in NC, Va, and WV. Throw in some rocking climbing, caving, and visiting my girlfriend it should be a blast.

Do you like the mountains? The SE is a big place, which area do you want to visit. If you want beaches East coast of Florida is hard to beat.

If you're in Houston, it shouldn't be too hard to snag a pair of tickets to Cancun. There's plenty of beachfront there and options for jungle tours/snorkeling/etc. that all the hotels can setup for you.

Looks AWESOME! No passports though, and not enough time to get one.

Too bad! That would have been a wild trip!

Oh, I was going to say Belize... never mind then

Beach AND adventure??  He he he....how about SPI and Matamoros??  You could enjoy a decent beach, followed by the adventure of attempting to partake in MAtamoros nightlife without being kidnapped or killed by drug lords.  It's fun....really.

Please tell me that is a joke! Who told you that lie? Galveston has just about the worst beaches, but then again I hate the gulf, it just seems so dirty.

Dammit! I am getting a passport ASAP!

Our back up plan then is Myrtle Beach...any suggestions?

It only took me about a week to get mine and I didn't put any rush service on it or anything. How long do you have until the trip?

Less than a week! Its Chad's fault!!

Does chad like to golf?  If so then I'd recommend Hilton Head, SC over Myrtle Beach.  It's not adventurous, but it's really nice.  charleston SC is really cool too.

West Philadelphia can be pretty adventurous. And the Jersey shore isn't too far away. Neither is Delaware.

How about camping at Asateague or Chincoteague?

Heh, alright, duly noted. I'll make sure to blame him by default from here on out.

Charleston looks great! Is it close to Myrtle Beach at all?

Not that I really care...I LOVE anything historical. I'm reading the second book in the 'North & South' series, so that would be an incredible place to go!

Any suggestions about Charleston?

Thanks for the ideas!

J-Chad likes to golf, but he's not very good....yet

I absolutely love Charleston!  The food and shopping is good.  I love going around looking at all the old plantation homes- they're gorgeous!   There's so much history there- I vote for Charleston!  You and Chad would love it!  Did I mention it's a romantic place?  There's Folly Beach (which is a little north or so of Charleston- I think?).  I'm not sure how far it is from Myrtle beach.

Inside joke indeed.  I was born, raised, and have lived in California for over 30 years.  I had to go on business trip to Houston for a straight 9 months, a couple of years ago.  While I was there, the client told me there was a great beach area called Galeston which rivals CA beaches.  It was a good trick.  That place was about one of the worse beaches I've ever seen.  Everytime I go back to Houston, we have a good laugh.
