I'm supposed to be racing the super sprint with some first-timer friends. My attendance will depend on how tennis playoffs go, City Finals are the same morning.

I'm in - my second tri, first Oly.

I was inspired to double-check my registration, and I realized that the swim time I submitted back when I registered in January was way off - that's what happens when you make an estimate after only a week in the pool after a decade+ of no swimming. I e-mailed and hopefully they can update it.

Okay officially in. PS. I hate that I had to use active. grr

Bcart, I'm probably not really ready for an Oly but it will be fun. I took a 7 month hiatus from cycling and just started back after the Ga marathon. Low expectations.

This is my favorite of the 4 I've done.

Please. I am not a sandbagger. Just because my training has been subpar doesn't mean I don't plan on going for a pr. AND that is because my "training" last year was a subpar.  Of course fingers crossed and counting on decent weather. I always give it what I got for that day.

In for the Oly (or International).  3rd year in a row doing this one.  I really like the race and the easy drive down there.  Looking to better my time from West Point!

BOOMBOOM!!! (Thunder sounds).

Coldfire, some local knowledge for you: early in the bike course, there will be a split. The Super Sprint riders will go one direction and the International riders will go another direction. I'll leave it up to you to figure out which way you need to go...

Hopefully, there won't be any traffic lights to contend with on this one!

No worries, after reading your RR about Rome, I have contracted out some golf carts to attack you. I will leave it up to you to figure out when they are coming.

I am in - first time doing P'tree City and only my second Oly distance after taking last year off entirely from Tris.  Looking forward to it and seeing some of you out there.

I haven't received any race e-mails yet though - have there been any?

I am doing the supersprint!

Anybody know how the timing of the races works? Does everyone in the supersprint start before the international distance? I saw on the website that the race starts at 7am but I did not know if that was for both races or just the supersprint.

In.  First time for P'tree City Oly.  Looking to improve my time from West Point.  Hope it's a fast bike course.

I too am interested in how the race starts.  Do they start the sprint and Oly at different times?  The website only says 7am.

I did the oly last year and I *think* the super sprint swim maybe went first. I remember standing in a very long line waiting to start and since I signed up late I just seeded myself. You went off I think 2 by 2 time trial--so not a mass start.  The swim for the Oly was long last year. I was about 4 minutes slower than I had expected to be and word was it was about 300 long. The lake was really muddy too. I also bruised my heel hitting a rock running into transition. So the swim wasn't the best part. But it wasn't cold--I didn't wear a wetsuit though most did.

Bike was semi hilly--nothing memorable but ups and downs and seems like there were quite a few turns. Definitely not flat.

Run was lovely, fairly flat (tiny golf course hills) and shadey. I loved the run!
