Have you ever noticed it looks liek the X wing generates it own gravity field for the pilot?  Why the gravity science in the future is so simple they don't even need a BS explanation for it....it's just always on......you know like the lights.

C-3PO was a protocol droid.  They were primarily designed to serve diplomatic roles where living conditions weren't so harsh. 

for the same reason pulsed lasers are used today.  Pulsing the laser increases the power per pulse without increasing the total power consumption of the laser.  However, the term laser cannon is a misnomer, as it did not fire laser energy at all.  The bolts were coherent pulses of high energy plasma, which is why you could see them traveling through space.  A true laser weapon would be invisible. 

Point well taken, but considering the enormous quantity that are used with minimal explanation of the power source, is it safe to assume that a powersource so extraordinary could run a cooling system, or considering or the wicked cold space could act as a heat sink. 

There are explanations.  Look up repulsorlift devices, inertial compensators and gravity-wells.

I get what you are saying...but have you ever noticed how even the lights can flick on and off, warp drives cut out, tractor beams can be turned off, but the gravity never falters.  Think about how inneffective  a death star would be if you could disable the gravity, or worse turn it up to 11.  Although there might be explanations, I can't think of a movie where the gravity issue simply wasn't just glossed over.  Everything else has a system that gets talked about, tampered with tinkered with rigged together with chewing gum and bailing wire.  Gravity.  Never fails.  What a wasted plot device.

The pulses are plasma, so they will eventually cool and dissipate or hit something else.

Well, yes and no.  That might have been their original design, but he WAS built on Tattooine by Anakin.  So some sand guards probably would have been in order.
