I haven't seen another thread on this, so thought I would start one. I just found some online streams today so started watching. It's amazing what these people are doing.  I feel bad for skipping a run because I have a bad blister on my foot.

I watched some of the track cycling today. The 1k time trial for the tandem riders. I was amazed at the number of chain skips and drops there were. One guy snapped the crank and pedal off on the start. That's crazy. I'm watching swimming now.

I don't have Universal Sports and can't seem to catch the online coverage. But I read up on my star; Tatyana McFadden. She won gold in the 100 and 800 both times crushing the field. She says she struggled qualifying for the 1500 finals, but is in. She's also racing the 400 and the marathon.

She's the nicest woman you could meet. We spent about 20 minutes in the lines at BWI and I was all bike geek about her wheels (I have the same). She was more interested in my racing than talking about hers. And she's cut from sheer marble.

Heck yes. Having a pity party about your life? Watch these people! I mean a guy the other day did about 1 min 10 for 100 back stroke, with no arms! No stupid "tweets", hissy fits, tantrums etc, just lots of pure inspiration and class. The older I get, the less interested in the olympics I get, and the more interested in the para games.

Do you guys really have no coverage? Thats a shame.

Joe Berenyi. Look him up. I raced against him and got my butt handed to me by him. He set a WR last week. Totally cool that I know who he is and raced against him.

I'm good friends with Dave Kiley, the coach of the USA Women's Wheelchair Basketball Team:

http://nwba.org/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=1913:mooresville-weekly-article-on-david-kiley-strength-after-strife&catid=13:womens&Itemid=37

I know him because he lives in my hometown of Mooresville, NC and my daughter, Gracie, is good friends with "LJ", a wheelchair-bound boy with cerebral paulsy.  LJ's the nicest kid in the world and actually, a damn good hoops player.  Dave coaches him at the local YMCA.  Let me put it this way...  Even though I'm the worst basketball player in the world, I mean, I seriously SUCK, being in a wheelchair still isn't enough of a "handicap" for LJ to beat me on his backyard court!  (Yes, his parents built him and his 3 older sisters and little brother a full court in their backyard.)  The kid has mad skillz from his sports chair.  Seriously - He can roll as fast as I can run, he can dribble and switch sides to keep the ball away from me, and he shoots one handed from either side (and his range is almost to the 3-point line).  He's the boy in front with the glasses listening to Dave...

Needless to say, Dave is going to be PISSED!!!  His team lost to Autralia yesterday and will play for the bronze today.  They got seriously ripped off!  I saw the video.  The last shot was missed, but while Rose's shot missed in the final 2 seconds, Beecca grabbed it, shot and scored with 0.3 seconds left on the clock.  But the refs said time had run out and the shot didn't count!  I paused the video and sure enough, there WAS time left on the clock!  I'm sure Dave'll be protesting.

The US Women's WBT hasn't lost since like, forever!  They've won the gold medal in the past two Paralympics and I think the refs and IPC wanted another country to get a shot at the gold any way they could.

i have a many times removed cousin by marriage competing in several swimming events, so i am following her events.  however, cannot watch the games, thanks to the US choosing not to cover it and me not having the 4million channel cable package.

way to go, USA.

He's beat me a cross race before when I first started...he is kicking butt, I believe Gold, Silver, and bronze so far?

She's 3 for 3! Won Gold in the 1500 today!

I would love to be watching it on TV but no stations in my area carry it   Seems like a major disservice to me.  NBC has full time Olympic coverage for 3 whole weeks but no national or major networks can carry even some coverage?  Some folks said they watched it on Universal, which is good, but not everyone can get Universal.

I'm glad to see it is popular here. If you go to paralympic.org they have a smart player where some of the events are shown live and some you can replay. I've been watching various swimming and T&F events and these guys and gals are amazing. A british guy ran the Chicago marathon in 2:42 with double above the knee prosthetics that aren't hinged. So he straight leg ran a full marathon faster than I can "run" a half marathon, that's just insanely awesome to me.

I really wish I could find a video of the cycling road race.
