TriAya - 2012-12-20 12:33 PM It is gorgeous. Here's a pic, especially since several Manatees very wisely are not frequent denizens of CoJ:

Oh sh*t, ha ... is that from a guy here on BT? He messaged me to get your addy and I thought he was a total creeper and ignored him.

Sorry bout it!

Hey if anyone wants to send me gifts (random strangers esp) please hand over my address

Asalzwed - 2012-12-21 8:48 AM Oh, Manatees ... I talk to you guys nearly every day but as I read through your introductions it's just a refresher of how diverse and interesting you guys all are. What a special group.

We were all younger and soooo innocent, uncorrupted....nah, I was born corrupted.

I wasn't born corrupted. I did it all by my lonesome. Private school tried to derail me but I prevailed.

I was thinking, too, about how cool it is to re-read everyone's bios.

Isn't being corrupted (or at least corruptable) a manatee requirement?

did it take 5 months (or whatever) for it to be delivered or is slow delivery only reserved for food items?

I sorta think Mutti had something to do with that.

I nearly didn't. We woke up to HUGE professional grade fireworks being lit off right over our house at 3 am. I thought that was the end. My heart is still pounding.

I'd say after the weekend. No doubt we'll have pictures, greeting, postings of holiday cheer and shenanigans, but what better way to welcome/indoctrinate new Manatees. My guess is we'll be capped on new members by Monday anyway, even it being off-work-peak times on BT.

Well my training today calls for a two hour ride. After reading my Feb issue of Triathlete Mag last night I decided I'd take the MTB out for a change of skills/venue. Well I bundled up and headed up the mountain. About 40 minutes in my hands were numb so I turned around and headed down the hill. I am now finishing my training session/Jogo on the drainer in my warm living room.

I could have told you this to begin with

Super job getting out there though and putting that time in, though!

I'm still trying to acclimatize to cold in whatever very limited ways I can here. I'm failing miserably. The driver's started to put the HEAT on in the car--even though it's 30C outside, it feels cold to me because it's raining (even though it's not raining on me). And I'm bundled up!

However, I'm sleeping with the aircon on, we're keeping the house quite cool, only taking cold showers and baths (how miserable), and slowly I'm getting there.

P.S. Just watch, it'll be a record hot day at IMNZ, and I'll be trundling along in my knee-length wool socks, winter wool-layer running tights, mittens, a ski hat

Plan is to swim and cycle around Bali's mountain lakes on the weekends to get used to the cold.

Speaking of hot, dirty, skinny, and running (why does this ALL bring Salty to mind?), did you guys hear about

Suzy Favor Hamilton?

What's weird is I have this sense of deja vu about it--was something similar in a Law & Order episode? Or didn't this just come out about someone else?

There is a guy selling fresh donuts on his driveway every weekend about a mile from my house. I couldn't pass it up.

I have the will power of a bilge rat.

Some idiot posted a recipe for Japanese sweet-potato doughnuts in the kitchen. And for once, it wasn't even me. But now I can't rest until I make, and especially eat, them.

I heard about it. I'm not sure how I feel about it. It seems to me that the overly sensationalized, always on, media hype filled world that we live in is creating more then is there. Or maybe I am just hoping so. I feel for her family.
