I hope nobody is offended by this CNN questionnaire. I'm sure it's meant to be tongue-in-cheek. Post to the poll AFTER you take the test!

For what it's worth, I got no skin in this game - I'm Jewish

I'm a blue state Jesus. No surprises. But nice to validate my viewpoints. Great questionnaire.

A lot of their questions/answers didn't really fit into my beliefs at all, but answering to the best of my ability I came out as a Red State Jesus.

As for Jesus in our current political climate, I think I'll keep the thread light and refrain from stirring the pot on that one.

Hahaha, great find.  I'm not sure if I was voting with my views of Blue Jesus half of the time or my my political views though.

Why should this thread be different from any other thread?

On a different not, I wanted to say that although I might have wildly different political views than others on here, I don't think there's a single person here I wouldn't enjoy having a beer with.

I think these all could have been summed up by asking, "Do you believe Jesus is the Son of God, or do you believe he was just a spiritual leader with some really good ideas?"

As someone who was never christian, I was bothered by the premise of the questionaire - that everyone here is a part of Jesusland.

I've said it before.  This is my favorite place to discuss politics and I genuinely like all the people on here.  Maybe it's that we have something in common with endurance sports that gives us something to fall back on.

IMHO, I think if Jesus actually voted, he wouldn't vote for ANY of the candidates.  He would be so far to the left, so beyond Marxism, that he probably wouldn't even believe in government.  Only a "use what you need and give everything else to help others less fortunate" type of attitude.  He would support the "Pure Faith and Charity Party".  One that couldn't exist today.

The "Bible" on the other hand was written and can be interpretted in many different ways.  So you could use it to justify far-right ideology as well as far-left (Henceforth the red-state/blue-state).  Heaven knows if the Old Testament God were here today and exerting power, there would be continuous genocide and mass killings.  Those can be some ugly five books.  In only chapter 6 of Genesis, not long after the creation, God changes her mind and decides to wipe the place out with a flood!

And for what it's worth, I'm Jewish as well.  So my opinion might mean bupkis in this thread.

Unsurprisingly I was a dead even split. I would expect nothing else, as I am a Lutheran. We celebrate a theological approach that is much more both/and than either/or. I found this survey not only simplistic, but full of false choices. Like most of American made thelogy.

What's also funny is how the very southern tip of Florida is counted as Cuba.  LOL!

I "lean toward believing in a Blue State Jesus"

Since I'm not Christian, this is good to know...in case I'm asked at the polls or something :D

Ditto!

I only see Jesus as a historical figure, otherwise Atheist in my "beliefs" and it was kind of fun answering the questions trying to reconcile that.  I think it worked pretty well, even though I had to stretch a bit at times.
