Out of habit I've always used Yahoo as my home page.  It always sort of sucked, but now it's ridiculous.  Any suggestions on a basic home page site that provides news, weather, stock market info, etc.

I use google. If you have an account you can use iGoogle which has all that stuff and widgets and things. Too techy for me though.

I use MSN dot com but only because it has a direct link to hotmail.

Personally I've never used a homepage with junk on it.  I either have my homepage as a blank page or just generic google.com.

I go to various sites for different news and have never liked the aggregate home page type stuff that give you small amounts of everything.

I use my yahoo, it's working great for me.  I'm curious what's changed that makes you hate it?  I do a lot of image blocking and keep flash under tight control, so that helps prevent ads, etc.

The entire format changed on me, instead of short blips of various news sections, I'm getting blips of about 30 different items (news, sports, entertainment, etc.) and in no particular order.  What I really hate is that when I open it there is sometimes a full page video (advertisement) that covers the entire page!  Have to then find out how to close it to see anything.  So much advertising and crap, and now so difficult to find the items that use to make it a worthwhile, just not worth it.  I have Fox News set up as a home page now, going to try that for a week, also looking at MSNBC, and the Economist.

Honestly, I only use a homepage while at work for my work areas, ex. maintenance page, ticketing system page, outage page, etc., but never a homepage at home - I use a bookmark bar tab.

Through options settings and image blocking and flash add-on management, I've still got mine looking like what I think you prefer.  Mouse-over gives the first couple lines of the story usually...

I love iGoogle but for some bizarre reason they are discontinuing it next year. Mostly because desktop "widgets" are replacing it, but not for me.
