You know you want to speak your mind. We want to hear how your training is going. Everyone wears an invisible necklace that says "I want to feel important". Go on and let us know what you're doing. Don't be bashful. Feel free to be painfully introspective haha

Pushing off from Stonepile in 5 minutes - going to try and sneak in 5~6 hours between the rain. Currently 47 degrees and not a cloud in the sky, but that is going to change this afternoon. Neels, Jacks (sans brasstown) and Unicoi all easy, then attack Hogpen, which for me just means ride up it. May do Wolfpen and Woody, but depends on weather and legs - if either go south then just easy back over Neels and call it a day. This finishes up winter base/strength block for me - LT block begins next week and runs through early May.

No OWS for me til next month I think - that is pretty BA in my book Phat. Sorry to hear you are still struggling with injury stuff though.

Thank goodness for this! I have been dying to tell someone (who cares) about my run breakthrough. 2 months ago on December 2nd I ran a 1:48:15 at the Reindeer Half Marathon on Amelia Island and it hurt. After that I got a winter illness and some forced time off. January I changed shoes, which changed my running and made my injuries disappear. I trained to keep my arms at my sides instead of being lazy and letting them swing across my body.

Saturday I ran a half marathon that involved crossing a fairly large bridge twice and I ran a 1:44:36! A breakthrough for me!

Thanks for the check in TankBoy! Hope your ride was fantastic. What a day for it... And well done to Jillian for the run breakthrough! Not really sure what specifically did it but she crushed that last HM.

My bike is a happy spot for me of late (long and hard!) and y'all have heard me harp on my swim improving bit by bit.The OWS is a rarity so I am not boasting but Alcatraz will be here any day!

My run is nickles and dimes at the moment.Taking what I can get though and learning to be more patient. Also nice to be back in a weekly strength session.

I'm done with my little recovery period after Bone Island Full and I'm ready to get back at some long rides and runs. I'm looking forward to doing Mountain Madness Half!

I am back to training after about a 7 month lay off and suprisingly everything is coming back pretty close to where I was before. I am still just as fast in the pool on 100's I just don't have the stamina to hold that pace over a HIM or IM swim right now. Running is coming along as well, I need to spend more time on my bike!

Runnings been iffy but I've been getting in 10-14 mile long runs so not bad.

You have been lucky to get some decent weather this winter!

I just checked your logs and it looks like you are doing great.  Keep it up and finish strong.

They are ALL  A races!!

If you are asking if I have a "big" race on the schedule (IM or big HIM) then no, I am staying short and local this year.

Sometimes I feel lazy seeing what everyone else is doing! I'm just running right now- putting in 30- 46 miles per week for Big Sur in April. I haven't swam since my last race in mid August and the last time I've biked was in mid October. For the past 2 years, I've just run over the winter and played major catch up with the swim and bike- usually doing my first try in June or July. I hate riding in cold weather and have gotten so bored of swimming that I almost hate it now. I think the majority of the problem is that I went non stop with the training over 10+ years that I kind of burnt myself out. Since I'm not doing anything longer than an olympic this year I feel like I'll be fine starting back up at the beginning of May. I have started to take a spin class once a week though so, I can't say I've totally stopped riding.

I'm the same way.  My bike still has the stickers on it from my race in July and is gathering dust.  I won't be hitting the pool for a few months.  Winter is for running!

I am glad I am not the only one. I pulled my tri bike out yesterday to dust it off and it not only does it still have the race numbers on it from IMLP, the front fork is covered in perform. Good Lord, it seems I forgot all about it when we got home! Looks like I have a nice little project to work on this week...

No race stickers still on my ride seeing as how I got a new Kestrel in January  knowing the owner of a LBS and buying a TT bike in January results in a GREAT discount...

Im itching to race on it but I have nothing until a HIM in march...

Achilles has forced me into the pool to take up aqua jogging for a few weeks. Let me start off by stating that it's much tougher than i thought it'd be. feels like a full body workout everytime! I'm a land lubber, but really starting to enjoy these tough sessions.

i guess Boston is a run this time around (not a race) and b2b is the main goal.

Just call me Mr Inconsistent!  I am keeping the total run volume respectable, but the pool need to get consistent.  I do not feel bad in the water, just need some focus time to get back a little speed.

The bike is the red flag.  Like others, I am way behind in prep for aqua bike RNR Macon.   I really need to find some discipline around WOs.   For this first time  in years, I am not able to make the WOs a priority.  So, this season is going to be interesting...not really worried about it.

Side note, I am starting to like long runs.  I am leaning towards a trail mary or 50K in the fall.  It will be adventure, but I may do it just because...

Towards the end of last year I knew my triathlon mojo was gone but assumed it would come back in January.  Not so much.

Equally burned out from tri training as I am looking forward to a 2014 IM, I had to figure out how to stay active while prioritizing fun.

The solution, Spartan Beast in November!  12+ miles, supposedly the obstacle course from hell.  This seems like an enjoyable way to stay in shape through the year and finish 2013 strong and lean and ready for IM training.

To train I'm doing more trail runs, will get re-aquainted with my mtn. bike in the spring, and am venturing into strength training and the world of cross-fit.  For training races I'll do trail runs, off-road duathlons, and shorter obstacle course racing.  Maybe even a few sprint tris just as an excuse to log some pool time.

Not really tri related but this is my training update.

Congrats Jillian on your run breakthrough.

I hardle belong on BT anymore as I sold my tri bike a few years ago and don't do anything but run these days.

Boston keeps getting closer and while my distance training is right on target, I've been seriously slacking on the intensity. As much as I'd like to race Boston, it's looking more like it will be just a great experience and a lifetime of running goal that finally gets checked off.

So stoked to be gaining so much in this base/strength phase. Four more weeks with increased volume until I start a race prep training block. Then a long course training block to ramp up to a shorter competition block up to one major peak. Big picture is first Ironman early next year! Werd to ya mutha!!!!
