Avg. Cost of a triathlon coach

some coaches go by race, so you might pay them a fixed amount for training for a HIM, for example.

That has been for me around $300 - $400, for about 12-14 weeks.

I checked a local coach's site, her pricing is $225/month for tri training.

My guess is that is probably typical...but varies.

My coach is $110/month. I pay $280 for the Tri club membership per year. I pay $240 for master's swim 3 times per week for 7 months. I pay $50 for a running membership at U of M indoor track.

With all that I get 3 swims per week (Monday/Wednesday/Friday), 2 indoor track sessions (Tuesday/Thursday), 3 indoor bike workouts (Saturday/Monday/Wednesday). I can email him at anytime and we have set up a google document where he posts the workouts for the month and I check the workouts off. I add comments, HR, speed, distance, etc and he adjusts the workouts accordingly. We also meet at least once a month at his house for updates, questions, direction, etc.

I feel that I am getting exceptional value for my money.

I dropped ~40 min in my 70.3 from 5:40 to 5:03, around 20 minutes in my olympic to a 2:22 and around 15  minutes in my Sprint to a 1:18(really hilly). Working with him less than a year.
