Sure it is a publicity stunt, but that woman can flat out play and it would be interesting to see if she can hang even with just the summer league in Vegas.

Nice story, but absolutely no chance in the real world...at all.

I wonder if she'd be a fit for a D-League team....opposed to the WNBA.

You've been conditioned to think this.

Maybe...but I really don't think so.  Then again, it would be a heck of a publicity stunt...and could net Mr. Cuban a nice profit.

It takes about 10 minutes of watching Ms. Griner's play to see she'd get smoked by an average 6' 8" swingman.  She's not quick enough.  Now, put her on the court with a man's size ball, sorry, it just aint happening.

I seriously doubt she would be successful playing mens division III college basketball.

^^^This ^^^

Apples and oranges.  Cuban may make some money off it but it will be a joke.

I could see him doing this. He had Denise Rodman playing for a short time to pull in the crowds.

But he'd probably just do it as a publicity stunt, and once he's done with her, she's gone. Which I don't think is fair to her. Then again, her is getting a lot of publicity herself and she might get paid some serious money to do it. So maybe it is!

Hey, Dennis Rodman (even at 38 which is quite old in NBA years) pulled down over 14 rebounds per game in his short stint with the Mavs.

btw, Griner will not be drafted nor will she play in the NBA.  It's preposterous, but we're talking about it, which shows how smart Cuban is.

She wouldn't be the first woman to play in the NBA.  If I recall correctly, the woman who played in the     '80s also had a stint with the Harlem Globetrotters.

It would be a win for both Griner and her team, even if it is only a one year contract.

Unless I'm mistaken, WNBA rookies make around $50,000 a year, while the NBA league minimum is around$0.5M. So even if she gets a 1-year deal, sits on the end of the bench except for garbage time, and is eventually cut, she'll make almost as much as she'd make in an entire WNBA career.

She's 6'8" and the best women's player out there.

LeBron and Carmelo are 6'8" and the best guys out there.

Yeah, just about the same....
