I have a lot that are more "favorite", but they were already mentioned.  I figured I would add something new - just a little less favorite..

My second car was a 75 Monte Carlo. I think the one in this photo is a couple years newer. I had it tricked out with the air shocks, mag wheels, headers...yeah, I thought it was a hotrod. I totaled it, rear ending a guy in a Dodge Challenger...no joke!

A few more:

1) Friend of my dad had a Lotus Espirit from the 70's. I think I was 14 at the time and it was the pinnacle of cool.

2) My first project car was a 66 VW Beetle. Teak door panels, teak running boards, and big Pontiac rims. I was about halfway to a full on Cal look, but I graduated HS, life took over and it was gone.

Now I drive a Jeep. It is the most fun and least practical car I ever owned. I've had it for over 10 years and have no desire to get rid of it.

I have to admit, I've had to look up some of the cars people have posted without pics because I didn't know what they looked like.

I have now entered into a very interesting and diverse world of pop up ads marketed to me because of my new gearhead searches.  Not exactly sure what that says about the average liker of these cars, but some of these are NSFW.

Not judgin, just sayin.

Working on cars it long tedious work and you often end up alone, dirt with your wrench in your hand.

I consider myself a critical thinker. I'm not a mechanic but I have played around with a lot of different setups on a previous car. I took a front wheel drive, V6 Pontiac Grand Prix and ran high 11's with it. I got it set up to run 13's non-aspirated, ran 11's supercharged (dyno'd 408 to the wheels) and then I turned it into a turbo setup. On a 50 mph roll if I spooled up the turbo and it kicked in the torque steer was unsafe and I had no doubt that I would destroy the transmission in no time. There isn't a piece of that engine that I didn't mess with at some point in time.

The fun part was that the car was green and since I am a little on the muscular side, my friends suggested that I somehow reference the Hulk. My vanity plate was HULK MAD. I shocked a lot of people in that car. While waiting to run one day at a Maryland drag strip a guy in a Mustang walked by and said, "looks nice but my mom has one of those." He ran a low 14 and I ran a 12.2. I drove by afterwards and told him and said, "guess you should have brought your mom's car."

This makes me smile.  I sometimes feel like I should focus more on the practicality, but fun seems to outweigh the decision every time.  Good for you.  Beetle sounds sweet, btw.

That's a great story.  Think of how many people you made smile with that license plate.  The fact that you beat a guy in a Mustang and got to turn around a mom joke on him is pure win.

I'd also just like to let you all know that I screwed myself by starting this thread--speeding ticket three hours post thread start.

That one is an 80s (4th gen. 81-88)

I've got a friend with an identical one of them, crappy 305 and all. And another friend with a totally black one with a swapped 350 SBC. He also has a Buick T-Type (same body, but with a turbo V6 - basically a cheaper Grand National)

The first guy also has this:

It runs 5's in the 8th, and one time when he first got it, he let off at ~1000' and still ran a low 11 quarter. It's got a 500 cid+ big block with something like a 300 shot of nitrious

My 77' F-150 with the old reliable inline 6. I've been thinking about selling it since it sits way more than it gets driven anymore.

How could anyone say no to this thing of simplified beauty? The clean lines and simple design coupled with an aggressive stance make it a car to be lusted after.

Yes I really do need one....just doesn't jive with the construction industry.
