Subject: Greenbelt Cycling Route

I just read this: http://www.thestar.com/news/gta/2013/05/28/cyclists_peddle_new_greenbelt_bike_route.html 

The plan to put in 600km bike route that basically goes all around the GTA in the 'greenbelt' - would be pretty awesome, i think. any thoughts? I am guessing some of these areas already have great cycling but would help support our tri training for sure.

I think they're just planning to sign existing back roads as being part of the cycling route. I'm in favour, as it reminds drivers to look out for us, but nothing stops us from riding those roads today ...

That's what I thought - but couldn't tell the detail from the map.  It definitely helps having routes where cars expect to see cyclists, also signage with directions and just knowing that other cyclists are likely to be out ...
