Well started riding my road bike after 3 years of tri bikes back in June. I set it up right in the middle, but I just do like it, two adjustments later and I have it as far forward as possible and it feels great.

Anyone else ride this steep. It actually probably isn't far off from my tri bike.

John Cobb suggests something fairly similar (along with dropping the bars very low)
here's what my roadie looks like (in sprint gear)

Insert Bike Porn here.....

My roadie is set up for comfort.  My tri bike is set up to be as fast and forward as possible.

Back when I was bike racing, I was on a Softride and had it adjusted to be pretty comfy. It wasn't until a few years later that I actually measured what the STA was... Turns out I'd been riding at 77 degrees all that time.

Now I'm riding a 73 degree STA frame and 25+mm setback. And it's pretty comfy.

Here is a picture of my roadie. It doubles as my tri bike until I can save up enough to buy a dedicated tri bike. Notice the fast forward seat post, the seat is scooted all the way forward, and the seat being angled steeply downward. This is an extremely comfy position for me and I can ride for hours in aero very comfortably. The one downfall is that when I ride on the hoods i lose comfort because it puts a lot of pressure on my arms to hold myself up. I'm rarely on my hoods unless I'm climbing so not really a big deal for me.

I used to, but found I prefer much slacker. Better balance, less hand numbness for the riding I do on it. Probably 74deg. But this is so individual. If you really are comfy there, enjoy it, it's just not inherently right or wrong. -J

Mine is fairly steep as well, going steeper with a bigger negative stem soon. Don't have a good full bike shot but the seat position is fairly similar to leego's.

is there a rule of thumb measurement/change to seat height if I will move my seat more forward?

If you had your bike fitted, don't start to move the seat... In a bike fit, the first thing to set is the riders relationship to the bottom bracket (setback and height) and then all other points are adjusted from this central point. Basically, if you start moving the saddle forward, your entire fit could get screwed up.

Setback is directly related to femur length (and not talking KOPS here), so your build will dictate the most efficient position.

Personally, I have a fair setback on my road bikes and much steeper on my tri bike (where you're concerned more about hip angle than set back position, unless it's set up according to UCI rules for TT's).

I quickly browsed an article in Men's Health that talked about doing a triathlon, and how it wasn't really that hard. With a "tsk!" I quickly turned the page while thinking, "Yeah, right!"
